I have read through the last 30 pages of posts and I can see there have been some power management issues with monitors attached.

I have a 30" monitor attached through a docking station and the M4500 has a nasty habit of going to some state that turns the monitor off and I cannot get it back.

This is with the laptop lid closed.

I think I have all the setting correct so that nothing powers off, except the display. So I wonder if the display just does not come back for some reason... Laptop is not asleep as the power light is not oscillating, and I see disk activity. But I does not come back when I move mouse or type.

However, I do see that my phone connected by usb goes power off.

    Weird.

Answer, maybe, have the lid close on power "do nothing".

    Hey Guys

    I have a M4400 but just with a dual-core (T9600)/(Q770).
So i want ask if somebody can say something over the gaming-performance from the new M4500?

I know in the first way its a CAD Laptop. But we all wanna play a little bit :D
Is there a difference between the Q880 and the Q1800M?=

Whats about e.g. GTAIV or COD:Black Ops? Will it run?

    Thanks in advanced!

I agree that one needs both sources of information. However, user opinion alone can be highly subjective.

Hi, guys. Soon I want to buy Dell Precision M4500. I want in him blu-ray burner, but from Dell is very expensive it's 12 000 CZK is 630 USD. I know that DVD RW drive in this laptop is TS-U633 type. Does anyone know, which exact type of blu-ray drive is in Precision M4500? I mean type which you can select in the Dell configurator. Thank's for answers.

I tried downloading the driver and either Dell is having issues or they took it down because I can't download it.
