I am not sure I remember this 100% right. The defrag. moves files and when Windows senses this, it may go to do a check point for system restore so therefore, you may gain or lose disk space.

For me Windows 7 works great for 5 weeks now. Not a single hang up or bsod.
Windows 7 installs most drivers directly, Vista drivers works flawless.

    Correct!

I had deleted the old restore points before defrag, so I did not check again.
Having now re-deleted the resore point used space is now back to 197 GB.

    Mystery solved!
    Thanks.

I am just trying to get ahold of one of the slim adapters, want to keep this big one with a docking station and the slim one with me when I am on the go.

    Hello everyone,

I have a new m6400 Covet (WUXGA RGB-LED | T9600 (2x2.80GHz) | 4GB DDR3 | 320GB HDD | Quadro FX 3700M 1GB (WDDM 1.1) | Windows 7 64bit) and I'm having the crashing problem also when I play WoW. It seems completely random and I already have a coolermaster laptop cooler underneath it so I don't think its a heat problem. It can happen within 15 mins of playing or sometimes I can go 3 hours without issue.

The screen just goes black and I can't get it to come back without forcing a hard reset :(

I have the large version brick PSU also so assume power delivery is ok.

This happens both in the Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (which the laptop came with despite asking for 64bit) and also the current Windows 7 RC1 x64.

T've tried a number of different driver versions including the ones from Dell, Windows (Windows 7 default) NVidia and laptop2go. None fix the problem and many give me the dim screen problem. Sorry I don't recall exactly which drivers I have tried.

    Any suggestions or comments welcome.

    Thanks,
    Lozman.

    Lozman.

Well 3dmark 2k5 and 2k6 appear to cause my machine after running the first test to have the screen go totally blank, I ran 3dmark vantage and it goes through just fine. Any ideas???

seems to me most of the graphics problems M6400 owners are having are happening with the FX3700M card?

got the FX2700M myself, never had a problem with it, (apart from the first dell driver, obviously)
