Quadro M5000M on M6700

I got my Quadro M5000M yesterday and tested with my M6700


This is how it looks.

Below is specification of M6700 I tested
i7-3940XM
32GB DDR3
Samsung 830 mSATA 256GB SSD
RGB IPS Premire color FHD LCD


I was plan to setup with Win 10
because of previous GTX980M is only working with WIN8 or later with EFI
After I set it up and boot, I notice It work with WIN7 64bit without problem.


cause of Dell not yet announced driver for M5000M, I use Clevo driver with INF modded.
It works fine anyway. 10bpc output and Premirecolor function is also work correctly.
I conduct few tests for Graphic card and below is result after test.


3DMark is greatly improved from Pre-used card(K5100M).

SPECviewperf 12 also can feel improvement during a test.

There have some different version of drivers still I want to test.
I will post it if any specific things occurs.

so how does it compare? to the TitanX? the m6000? k6000m?

I ordered an 980M for my M6700 so I'll try to install it in a few weeks. I wonder if it's possible to flash it with the Quadro M5000M BIOS once Dell puts it out to avoid the driver inf file hassle?

 

I'm interested to hear how this goes, because I've been considering the same upgrade for mine. (980M seems more economical than M5000M for what I need.)

M5000M is same based with GTX980M
So you can expect same performance as GTX980M
Not like last generation Mobile Quadro's, Maxwell isn't cut out clocks then GTX one.
This make Quadro's performance for gaming to similar as GTX.
I play Fallout4 in high options and it works damn fast and good.

 

Did the card come with a compatible x-bracket? My Alienware 980M card uses smaller screws so I'd have to switch the brackets somehow and I'm not sure if they come glued or what because it's not really budging at all..

 

I believe you'll have to heat it up before it can be removed (heat gun or hair dryer). Haven't tried it myself but I remember seeing this in past discussions.
