I did a back to back run of WPrime 1024, then 3DMark 06, then Cinebench R10.
The QX9300 never got above 77 degrees on any of it's 4 cores.

How did you measure the temprature? I am using Everest but it seems not accurate enough.

Your temps are way too high, try reapplying the thermal paste. When you remove it make sure you check to see if there is maximum contact. The cooling system for the CPU is more than enough to handle the QX9300 at max speed (stress test). It shouldn't hit 100+ deg C.

Try using RealTemp or CoreTemp to monitor temperature.

I don't have it anymore - it didn't accurately use all 4 cores.
100C definitely indicates something wrong. After perhaps an initial break in period of a few cycles (maybe 3), the temps should stabilize to a certain level.

If you take off the heatsink, you can see how you applied the paste. If there's a lot of excess, you put on too much. If there are some spots where it looks like it didn't make full contact (believe or not, i put on too little compound on once), apply more next time. If it looks like the right amount is there, all I can say is to clean everything throughly (even a speck of dust will negate the advantage of the best compound) and reapply it.

I tried using RealTemp, and the temprature is under 90'c now. It seems there are something wrong in Everest...
