So I think my Vostro GPU is either dead or the Fan is Dead

    Restart your computer. or shut it down and hold Fn and then press the power button. Run a fan test in dell diagnostics. Best way to check for sure.

    so i don't see the fan test... I was in the diagnostic

    After the Pre-boot System Assessment, didn't it open up another thing where theres an option for express test, extended test, custom test, symptoms tree?

    Do you have the dell drivers/resource cd? If you do you can boot from that to get the same thing.

    lol have you repartitioned your hard drive?

    if you haven't the partition should still be there to boot from after PSA (i did and on my computer I get a 'please insert the dell drivers/resource cd' message after the tests on the blue screen with white text), otherwise you might remember deleting an ~82MB eisa partition.

    and here is a screenshot of dell diagnostics (runs after the psa) where the fan test should be.

    oh I guess I did the PSA, but it says it'll take 30 min for it to scan rest of the memory i wasn't gonna do that -_-, i guess i'll have to

    Did you do the express test? Fan test is under Custom.

    I don't see any custom, i even diid the whole PBA test, afterwards it just reboots for me after PBA, i didn't see fan test under diagnostic

    hmm. On my Inspiron 6400, it asks for the cd if there isn't a partition.

    I guess it's different for your dell laptop.

    When you get hold of the disc, boot from the dell resource/driver cd into diagnostics.
