How long before we see Intel's latest i7-2X60 cpu's in the Precision models? Might they come with a price increase?

    Alienware has them already.

    Thanks in advance,

Since my earlier post on Oct. 8th, Dell brought the new i7-2X60 CPU's to the XPS laptop line.

I know from years of sporadically watching the Latitude and Precision webpages, that Dell is a bit cautious about adding the leading edge components to their business line.

However, these new processors appear similar to the current line, so I wondering if they may also be added to the Precision line quickly, let's say in the next few weeks.

For those of you who watch Dell's releases closely, what's your best guesstimate?

Often you can already order them by phone while they`re still not listed on the website.

Best guess: not for a while. Since Precision and Latitudes target business and corporate, chances are they probably won't get the new ones until they completely run out of the older ones (since corporate tends to like having everything the same as much as possible).

Heck, for all we know, the Precisions and Latitudes could've gotten all the older ones that were destined for XPSes. ;-)
