    Does anyone know if Dell plans a 14" Precision model?

    Frankly, a Precision is overkill for my usage, but I would like built-in USB 3.0 which Latitude e6420 does not have.

    I doubt there would be a 14" Precision, they had the M2400 and it's been discontinued for a reason, it didn't sell. If you are in the market for a mobile workstation then you won't care about the size/thickness. Also with a 14" laptop you aren't going to get a really high screen resolution, which at least on the older 15" Precisions you got WUXGA.

    Honestly if all you want is USB 3 buy an E6420, then you can just get a USB 3 ExpressCard adapter and be done with it.
