ok, so I tried setting my HDD to the Intel IRRT (I think this is what is called), instead of AHCI. I had to re-install Windows 7 to make it boot, and I get worst results. 1.9 instead of 2.0. So Now I am back to AHCI because I want to boot back to Windows Vista.

I originally did not install IMSM, Windows 7 did for me and I got 2.0 as a score. yes I checked for Windows updates too.

I tried HD Trach, and this is what I get: (see attached image)
Also check out the second one, done with the 32 mb one (longer test).

My SD card reader does infact work. Turns out that there was something wrong with the SD card.

What installer do those two failed drivers fall under?

When I clean installed Vista, I discovered that these AMT drivers will not install without first installing the Dell ControlPoint Scurity Driver. I did not install any of these.

I tried first installing the Dell Controlpoint Security driver and then these two Intel AMT drivers. They still won't install.

I still have two devices missing drivers: SM Bus Controller and USB Smart Card Reader.

I also installed W7 on my M2400 (P8600, 4Gb, 7200 RPM SG 160 Gb). HD WEI dropped to 2.0, everything else stayed pretty much the same.

Didn't really notice any speed improvement that people in other forums have said of W7. After installing the option nVidia WDDM 1.1 driver for W7, I noticed menu items flicked as I moved the mouse around the menu.

Nothing special about W7 at all. I've already setup my Vista UAC to not bother me (auto-elevation of privileges, etc). One thing I did love about is the new taskbar as well as the fact that maximized windows retain transparency ! Excellent !

These two aren't enough to get me to move away from Vista (which quite frankly I am already extremely happy with) ... but if they also got rid of the giant Slideshow button in the Windows Gallery program (very annoying - keep accidentally pressing it), I might pay USD 49 for an upgrade.

Your HDTach graph looks OK so disk performance is where it should be.

The SM Bus Controller is a Intel ICH9 Family - 2930 device so this one is important to fix and might be the reason to the score.

I kept the DELL\drivers folder from the original disk and used this to update the missing devices.

    Did you keep this folder?

I did a full reinstall last night and I'll make a post out of it later today.
