    Thanks.
Strangely i couldnt get windows to install it manually either before or after using device manager. iaAHCI.inf
The version installed is v6.1.7600.16385 which i can only assume is windows 7 own driver.
Anyone else had a problem updating?

A review of my E6400 Win7 x64 reimage notes below suggests that Win7 installs the correct Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI or ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID controller driver during the OS install, assuming the BIOS is in AHCI mode. Presumably it wll be subject to Windows Updates, and you should be able to update manually via Device Manager using the files extracted from the pre-OS package available here for your selected OS. Looks like the pre-OS IRST package is up to version 10.1.

Most of them. See my sig notes below. The E6410 notes are more elegant. But you'll get the idea.

    great post, thank you.
How do u like ur E6410? does it have issue on the speaker like E6400? such as peeling off the black paint, and pop noise.

The 12/08 E6400 had trouble with Vista and the nVidia driver dropping out, but went stable after the April '09 nVidia update. And has been solid on Win7. No speaker/audio issues. No grill paint issue. Suffers latency so not good for recording. Rubber feet failed.

The 6/10 E6410 is a better E6400. Solid since day one on Win7 reimage. Probably still suffers latency. Runs a touch warmer but has not been an issue. Replaced the rubber feet before they failed.

Universal Security Hub... presumably a device that ties together the various security functions, including Intel AMT which drivers must be installed after the DCP Security drivers. I skipped all and right-click disable the banged USH in Device Manager.

Maybe Dell will replace it and then you'll have a new disc.
