Discarding the last one that I should modify the pc..delle first three that you have listed there are differences in performance or one is the other?
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
The last one is the best as it can OC fairly high (the non standard one)
The blue PCB only has 1920 cores of the desktop, but is still better than the Green PCB
The Black PCB model's seem to be average -
Perfect! Is also the only one I found comfortable to buy on ebay
Fortunately I have the screen epd, I just have to see if there is a bios of prema that fits to p770zm or if it goes well that of -dm and maybe I also have take a 300W adapter
It would be nice if everything works -
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
240W adapter should be fine, and yes a eDP screen is needed for the 1000 series.
Prema no longer hands out his BIOS's, but you might have luck contacting SVL7 (I forget his name) off the Forum's for his BIOS -
Currently I have the bios and vbios of prema..I could flash the vbios of stock and should work the gtx1070?
I do not need to overclock the GPU
Next I have to keep downclock that hot warrior of the 4790k that reaches me absurd temperatures lol -

Haha dude. Svl7 retired and went off the grid years ago.Mastermind5200 likes this. -

Really? Had no clue. |
Shame -
After the last update of the vbos Prema I have not followed the le mod for this pc
Good that I have already unlocked the bios..but the modder stan disappearing slowly? -
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
Alright, so after finnally fixing my Ranger, I can confirm the AW 17 R1 with eDP 120HZ screen works with a K3000M and a 680M, 680M seems to need modded drivers however
Edit: My AW 17 R1 didn't post with the M6100/8950M, but my M6700 works perfectly with the 8950M (no modded Drivers, internal 60hz screen works) -
I've tested 680M working well with AW 17 R1 120hz display as well. I think even 480M and 580M work as well.
AMD is for some reason hit and miss. -
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
Would you by chance happen to have modded drivers for the 680M? I really don't want to go back to the K3000M -

also the p870dm3 can be upgrade with : gtx 1060/1070/1080/P5000

Yes that's been known for a while now, as those are all stock configurations aside from the Quadro, and even then that's a standard form factor -
There is another mxm that compatibles clevo, which is the m290x mxm (amd) since i read another thread about this.
https://community.amd.com/thread/210032
Is it true? -
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
M290X is just the 7970M rebranded for the 2nd time, and I doubt anyone has actually tested it in anything higher than the P37x series -

The description is pretty funny
"Because it is a AMD card, the fans don't need to run as much"
No, they don't run at all
"No other GPU can match this level of performance in this machine!"

Did you get the 1070m to work in your p770zm? If yes, which 1070m did you grab and which mods were necessary to get it running?

A
As long as you have a eDP screen and you get a standard size 1070, there shouldn't be any hardware mods neededCaerCadarn likes this. -
But if I look at the three standard layout cards (GeCube, Zotac, ASRock) then at least a heatsink mod would be needed as the layout of the vRAM's and VRM's are completely different, right?
Does installing one of them require a special vBios? Prema vBios and Bios? An inf mod would be needed as well?

The best graphic card you can install on zbook15G3 is m2200 now. I've tried a lot for my clients. HP p2000m can't fit the laptop because it is MMX type B size.
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
Unless you mod the heck out of it and shove a 1070 in it, although that might have been the G2 -
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
W7170M is starting to look really promising for me
https://www.3dmark.com/search#/?mod...core=0&gpuName=AMD Radeon R9 M395X&gpuCount=0
M395X=W7170M with 200mhz bump core
With a proper CPU OC, I'd say it should be around 6.5-6.6K combined score in FS, which is around 970M level last I checked
@TheReciever -
Not really interested, its basically 780m level performance. m6100 is about 30% down from that iirc.
At this point Im just going to get the 1070 since its MXM 3.0b now and is confirmed to be working in the Precision 7710.Mastermind5200 likes this. -
Found that m6800 with the w7170m and asked how he got it to work, this would be a huge upgrade for me i have the m6100, and the w7170 is way cheaper than a m4000m.
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
He likely just plugged it in, and presto! Magic! The big question is whether he has a eDP screen or not.
Personally, I wouldn't go for the W7170M, as it's performance is Between a 780M and 970M, but if thats all you can afford, it's a good enough card. -
He said it was a direct swap to w7170m, only edp will work apparently, wonder if the seller knows that for sure, asked about fan control on the card but he didn't answer that question so alot is unknown about the w7170 or 390x. Looks like LVDS like myself are stuck on 780m, 970-980, or the mx000 cards.

Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
Fan speed needs hwinfo, its mentioned in the description. -
Hey all, what form factor mxm card is used in Clevo P750TM1?
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
MXM B -
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
Does this look like MXM-B to you?
-
Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
Yes, as it can fit MXM B cards, can it not?
Its a MXM B+ config sure, but its still MXM B compatible -
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
It cannot. There are no MXM-B heatsinks on Clevo P7/P8 since DM1 generation. -
The slot itself is MXM 3.0/3.1 is it not ? Everything else is semantics A and B determinations are based on dimensions.
Not saying either one of you is right. Heatsink compatibility is irrelevant to if something is MXM, and A/B designations are for standard sizes, of which this laptop is not. -
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
MXM-B refers to the form factor, not the slot. His post was misleading.bennyg likes this. -
MXM-B are two parts of a whole, and agreed the response was a bit short.
MXM being the port and B being the dimensions. Clevo still uses MXM but naturally the B is no longer present, B+ tending to be used in these forums to described for cards larger than the B form factor. Though to be honest I have no idea if thats any real official designation.
I should clarify, I didnt like your supporting point is all about heatsinks, not doubting your overall reasoning.
Should be interesting to see if the 980m works just as an experiment, not that I would ever push for such a scenario. -
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
Because the only issue is having a compatible heatsink, which DM2 and onward don’t have since that is when Clevo changed the form factor. A 980M would work just fine if you fab a custom MXM-B heatsink.bennyg likes this. -
So then in principle, mxm-b is also "correct" but like I hedged, only in principle. I wouldn't pursue that scenario as it kind of defeats the whole point if the laptop to begin with.
-
I don't think there are any successful examples of 3.0b GPUs installed in post-DM1 Clevos?
Physical size and firmware compatibility are bigger issues than slot electrics which seems not to be an issue outside of the 1.8V enable pin mod needed to get a Clevo 1080 working in the P870DM-G (by Mr.Fox) -
Actually there is:
http://valid.x86.fr/j2f0c3
https://twitter.com/PremaMod/status/1061703533236432896
Maybe I lied. Don't know if that was a DM3 or DM board LOL -
Fair enough, part number says P870DM2 mobo so yes it looks compatible
-
I appreciate all the posts, but I was mainly curious as to what the laptop would have come with stock. For example if I was trying to buy a 1060 from this model.
-
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
It comes with Clevo 1060/1070/1080.
