    Hi ranfart,

I think the g2 takes the k2100 at max but if you get your hands on a m2100m it woukd be worth giving it a try. Even on the newer models the 15 inch laptops only go as far as p2200 amd after that the firm factor is m3.0b which is the 17 inch laptops

Yup thats the one having said that im not sure if you can put a maxwell card into a kelper slot. The architecture is different. How ever you might get a chance at a gaming card in it. If not them you might be at your maximum. Pm me

Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask some questions if possible please, I own a Sager NP8180/p180hm and was searching around and found an MXM-B 1060 for around 300$

1-Do you think it will fit (Physically)?
2-Do you think it will work (BIOS/Architecture)?
    3-Is it worth it?
    4-Do I need a new heatsink?
5-If not what is the latest card I can install (6xxm?/9xxm?)

+ is there any kind of unlocked BIOS for the NP8180?

    Thanks a lot

Maybe there was once an unlocked version by Prema but how to obtain one is another question.

The best card for HM-Series is either GTX 680m or AMD 7970m.

    P. S. : in order to run Pascal you need Optimus or an eDP-Screen which HM-Series doesn't provide.

Hmmm so its a lost cause.

+ Will any MXM-B 7970m work or any specific things i should be looking for? and where is the best place I can find one in?

    Thanks

It's important that you grab one feom the earliest production run - v1.2 - newer versions means more workarounds.

    Follow this thread:

    https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=688656&share_fid=33462&share_type=t

Personally I would go with the GTX 680m because with 4GB vRAM it should provide you with a better (gamer) experience than the 2gigs of the 7970m. Although the 7970m is a little bit performanter on stock.

It was simple - I put card into slot, turn laptop on, install modified drivers (only .inf mod) and it works.
Of course, it requres small cooling modification, because coils on the right side of card collide with copper plate, so I cut half of this plate. Temperatures on sceenshot are measured during 3DMark 11 test.

Yes, my is equipped with Q9000 (QX9300 has already been ordered) and single GTX280M.
It's funny, beacause it passes POST with non-clevo cards without any problems, so I use it for flashing vBIOSes in other cards. I tried 870M from MSI and 765M from Dell and both works in BIOS and Windows safe mode, but during normal boot it shows white screen and hangs. And now I got half-fried 970M from my brother's laptop (drivers crash under heavy 3D load) so I decided to try if it will works in this 5 years older laptop.

Last-gen Clevo 1060 and 1070 cards had that even though they were only 78W/88W and 115W/125W.

I cannot wait to see a teardown of the GT63 RTX models. Hopefully it is using the same MSI MXM form factors as Tornado F5 GTX 1070 and GTX 1080.

BTW, technically my WT75 has a successful MXM upgrade, from Quadro P3200 (MSI) to GTX 1070 (MSI). I posted details and photos in the WT75 thread.

Thanks for the link to the teardown! It looks like they have changed the GT63 to be compatible with the new GT75 MXM layout. I guess this means no upgrades for Tornado F5 / WT75 for now.

as far as i know (only 99% sure). This user is selling Clevo barebones (From Eurocom) with the motherboard only and coolers (with screws also) as upgrades for the previous generations.

And almost all his sales have very positive feedback! I found the user from buyers here on NBR!

Sold 1582 items and 99% of positive feedback so far!

They've sold cards that have been flashed with a VBIOS higher than they can handle and then won't accept returns when they fail, as well as having either extremely poor or average service. Should be a thread around here somewhere. But drama isn't really appropriate for this forum/thread

    Hey guys,

Anyone has an idea what kind of connector and form factor that video card is supposed to be? Seller says it is taken out from Dell Precision 7530. Since when are Dell producing workstations with non standard MXM videos?

Too bad, I thought they're gonna use that only on Alienware series. If they would be using it on regular Dell workstations, then the chances of getting an MXM card for upgrade out of sites like ebay gets much lower.

There is no need for a thread, as it is pretty much plug & play if you get HP card. If you get other brand, you need to flash the HP vbios.
