hi jerry,
have you tried switching off the 10 bit color mode in the workstation tab of ccc ?
i have experienced a bug with maya´s timeline that disappeared, as soon as i disabled 10bit color again. you should try this, since there seems to be a bug with hardware overlay feature and 10bit color.

Hello
I have some problems with described FireGl v 5600 drivers while using Google Sketchup 6. My hardware is HP Compaq 8510p with Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600. After installing new drivers everything seems to be Ok, except "hardware acceleration" in Sketchup. Sketchup is fully using OpenGL support. Application works slower than on my previous Toshiba with Radeon X600 (its impossible to select and edit faces in models), in this point I dont see any differencen between standard and FireGL drivers. Im wondering if anybody tried these patched drivers with Sketchup? These drivers are my last possibility to work with Sketchup on my current computer. I will be very thankful for any help/suggestions.
Greetz -
i'll try that , thanks .you're a genius . works fine !!!
-
EDIT: i just downloaded one of the house models from google sketch up. With hardware acceleration disabled it is almost un viewable (1-2fps), with hardware acceleration on, just rotation around the model is around 40fps, zooming is around 20 fps. -
sketch up works fine here as well .hardware accel on
-
I downloaded both sets
of drivers from 32nd page (original and schoko) and after installation Sketchup works the same way as when i used hd 2600 drivers... very poorly and i cant edit front faces in my models. When i switch on hardware acceleration in openGL settings i only have one capability to use - it dont makes it work better.
Before installation i used drivercleaner... -
Right, I just tried the model. Rotating around the model is smooth, but zooming in and out is where the problem comes in. Very slow.
-
I also have problems with zooming and with editing faces. OpenGl settings dont solve this - hardware acc is not working
-
can´t help you with google sketchup, since i don´t use that one.
if there are problems with the driver aand sketchup i can not tell you...
but if there is a problem with your driver installation you can check with the specviewperf 10 benchmark suite.
if your benchmark results are not nearly similar to the results of the other people that posted their success here , there might be a problem with your driver installation.
btw. you are not working on battery and have powerplay enabled ? -
Ok, im downloading now specviewperf 10, it will take few hours..
Many people that are using HD 2600 with Sketchup has the same problem, and i didnt found anybody who solve it yet. My friends had the same
problem with their nvidia geforces but they lucky found drivers fully supporting openGL in Sketchup.
Maybe there is possibility to make some changes in driver to make application use full OpenGL support? In the meantime
im wainting for specviewperf test. Are the drivers from 32nd page the right ones? -i used them.
Im working witk AC adpater - not on batteryI bought this computer for autocad, v-ray and especially sketchup
i had no idea it will bring such surprise
Thanks and greetings. -
So.. my viewperf 10 score is:
3dsmax-04 30.08
catia-02 28.86
ensight-03 not Successful
maya-02 96.92
proe-04 29.64
sw-01 63.99
tcvis-01 19.77
ugnx-01 17.30
..i switched off the hardware acceleration in sketchup and it works much better, but still not as it should. -
Hello guys. I just installed Schoko's drivers, and they speed up archicad12 very well. I can't say exact numbers, but it really makes a big difference. I just hope it will be stable also. Thank you very much for the drivers!
-
Hey guys
is there a specific version of the HD2600 that this will work?
such as the 512mb DDR3 version?
Im using this for architecture and the Gateway M-6862 has it. Was wondering it will work flawlessly with autocad, rhino 4.0, vray, maxwell, photoshop, illustrator
Pm if you like as well, will rep for you -
GPU accel is implemented to a great extent in the upcoming CS4 and to a smaller extent in CS3 (some filters etc.) I'm not sure whether this patch will accel the Creative suit, but if it does, I doubt it will be by much.
This patch is for the HD2600 found in eg. HP 8510p. This has Device ID=9581 and subsys ID= 30C5103C
If not you will have to patch the driver yourself. Link to tutorial is found within this thread.
Hope this answers your questions.
Good Luck! -
^ wait, did you happen to get the modded drivers work
on vista 64?
if so, please PM me on how -
I cant dload the patches schoko
-
-
Just to report in, Pro/E WildFire 3.0 runs like a dream with my HD2600 *cough* FireGL V5600.
-
Hello Schoko.
I'm planing to buy a laptop with an ATI 3650 and I was wondering if it could be converted into a FireGL V5700.
Will your drivers work? or do I need something different?
Thanks in advance. -
I just want to thank everybody, especially schoko!!
I'm already working now with my 8510p (T7700, 2GB, 160GB@5400, xp32 with CATIA V5, SolidWorks 2008 and 3ds max 9) and the fireGL since a few months ... everything is perfect!
But only yesterday I ran the SPECView test. And here are the results:
RunViewperf 1280x1024:
3dsmax-04 34.75
catia-02 33.89
ensight-03 23.76
maya-02 111.06
proe-04 33.13
sw-01 70.16
tcvis-01 21.36
ugnx-01 18.18
CATIA with 4x Anti-Aliasing (Edge-detect):
Weighted Geometric Mean = 25.61
...I'm very happy!
Is it possible that someone sends me the drivers for xp64? -
Just a small OT really
I have just been enjoying Fallout 3 on my XP64 with FireGL mod from Shoko and at max res and nearly maxed out gfx (just no AA and Anizo and some minor changesto viewing distance) it is smoooth on my o/c card
I love this Ati card -
Hi all,
I've a Lenovo Y710 and I've put the firegl driver as seen in other forum. It's work fine with specviewperf but after 5 min to 20 min my screen freeze or I've a bsod.
schoko could you send me your driver for xp 32 bits please?
Tks -
just ran spe veiw
3dsmax-04 36.10
catia-02 35.28
ensight-03 22..76
maya-02 100.96
proe-04 34.54
sw-01 67.91
tcvis-01 20.67
ugnx-01 17.17
could the low scores be because i'm running 2 monitors ? it should be better , running x-900 with the fire gl 5600 .
why such low score ? -
Those aren't low scores. At least it not because of the V5600, from these bench marks it looks faster than the V5700 in Pro/E and faster than the FX770M in Maya.
Nice CPU though! :O -
Ithank Destiny and his guide on thermal paste , the CPU and GPU RUN MUCH COOLER , GPU NEVER GOES OVER 24C AND THE CPU IS AS COOL AS THE OLD T-7300 ! CPU never over 52c running WCG
i'll run the test again with one monitor and browser email and skype off , and all other backround things off , hope score improves -
looks liks i can do just a bit better , wouldI get much better results with 8530 ? Or is this about as good as it gets ?
3dsmax-04 36.74
catia-02 36.06
ensight-03 23.91
maya-02 108.55
proe-04 35.73
sw-01 72.55
tcvis-01 21.52
ugnx-01 18.12 -
Thats as good as they get. I think there is a specperfview performance chart on notebook check.
-
are there any updates for patches for newer drivers? where can i get any download? thanks for any help
-
Shocko , you have a link to those 64 bit ccc and drivers ? I can't get ati ccc to work in 64 keep getting error win xp 64
-
Hi guys, i read this topic with interest for a moment. I've modded my hd2600 but my spec perfs are different than yours, so i think i've made a mistake... When i run the script riva tuner says me it doesn't work. But by config panel, system i can update driver to V5600! So, i'm lost...
Schoko or another would you like to send me last drivers.
PS: Sketchup isn't friend with Firegl it works better less Open GL...
Thanks and sorry for my eng, i'm french. -
Anyone having problems switching over to external display after installing these drivers?
Fn+F4 doesn't seem to wanna switch over. I have to go to through the CCC to switch over the displays. -
Shoko! Are You there? Please send me links to drivers - If You can both for xp x86/x64.
Many thanks for Your work. -
hi
where can i get the modded drivers from, ive a 8510p and vista 64bit -
Hi Shoko,
how can i contakt you? i can´t find the mod drivers for xp 32 and hp 8510p.
greetz -
better guide would be good to have. long time ago I wanted to do this mod but I stuck somewhere, couldnt find any help. it isnt clear what exactly to do, where to find things etc etc...
-
You ask schoko for the driver, tell him which version you need. You uninstall your old one, then install the new ones. That's all there is to it.
-
Hi, i'm like yours stucked in the process, i've tried and installed firegl driver found on AMD website but i think my perfs aren't okay with firegl normal results!
So anyone would like to send me drivers or a step by step guide.
Schoko are you still here?
Thanks for answering -
Hi Schoko,
i'm interested with your custom driver, could you kindly send me link for vista 64bit version mod?
thank you very much -
Hi Schoko,
i'm interested with your custom driver for Win 7 64 bit if you have one, I just scanned about 10 pages of this thread randomly and a few other threads. I would like to mod my HP8510p to the fireGL. I think it has whatever the last bios was HP released.
Can you PM me a link and instructions? I see from one page it looks like you got a 64 bit driver working for Vista? So I am hoping for Win 7 64bit.
Thanks, Mike -
Hi Schoko!
If there are any modded HD2600 drivers for vista/7, 32/64bit that mod it to firegl im interested in. Send me a link please.
Thanks -
win-7 64 drivers would be nice , miss them since upgrading to 7 . I.m using the ati software drivers CCC for the 8530-w win-7 64 now on my 8510 , but gl 5600 would probaly be an improvement
-
Any news on Win7 x64 drivers?
Does anybody have a Vista x64 modded driver that works? -
Where to download any of his drivers???
I can not find anywhere for any os... -
Hello everybody,
been away for a while, but i brought you a late christmas present. for xp64 i have the driver 8.634 available for you guys.
for now i will send the dl-link via pm to the people that request it. if you guys tell me it is working i will post the link here.
Windows 7 and Vista X64
If have had some time yesterday and had a look at the windows7/vista x64 driver(version 8.663 ). i guess i have found
the correct strings needed to make a patch possible for vista/win7 x64.
since i do have neither vista nor 7 installed i can not test myself if it is really working. if someone of you would be interested
in testdriving the patched driver you are welcome.
one problem with the x64 versions of vista and 7 is the driver signing. you will need to trick your os to accept the driver.
the testsigning method comes in quite handy here. There is a software called Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider
, and it should help to get the driver working.
the program and instructions how to use it you can find here :
Code:http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo
Code:http://www.spec.org/gwpg/downloadindex.html
Note :
One downside i am experiencing with ati´s drivers for a few month now, guess i started with the 8.6 series of firegldrivers,
is that my 8510p is crashing after resuming from standby ( hibernation is ok). the ait2mtag.sys seems to be the culprit.
have not had the time to nail that problem down, with other words i am not sure if the atidriver is really the problem, or
if some other driver or software is responsible for the crashes after standby -
I'd be happy to help you test the x64 drivers on Windows 7 (Ultimate.).
-
Hello Matias, welcome to the forums.
i would send you the link to a patched driver later today. am still busy uploading the xp 64 driver (125 MB) with 20 kb/sec. once i am done i´ll upload the x64 driver for win7/vista.
i will only upload the device driver for the graphics card ( no ccc, no hydra, no maxtreme and no main installation routine for the driver ).
you will have to use the "have disk" -method to install the driver. maybe you should read the first pages of this thread where it is explained what you need to do to install the driver via "have disk".
to see if the patch has worked and the opengl-viewport performance is good or not you need to download the specviewperf 10 and make the run all test for the resolution 1280x1024 ( it is also explained in the first few pages of this thread.
for the beginning you can either use the testsigning method while pressing f8 ( start up options) while you boot your notebook, or make use of the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider. dunno if you are an experienced windows user( who actually is one ? ), but if this is all new to you you should take some time reading this thread and the how to of the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider works.Code:http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo
if you decide to use the testsigning method by pressing f8 during startup: you have to use the method everytime your computer boots up, or it will simply ignore the driver you just have installed. -
hi mathias,
am nearly done with uploading the driver. will sent you a pm in a few minutes.
please report back if you have some questions / problems, or if it is working.
if you have already downloaded the specviewperf, there is no need to make a testrun with the unpatched hd2600 driver. we already know the results the hd2600 gets in the viewperf.
// edit
can´t send you a pm. guess it is because of your newbie status. think you need 5 posts to have pm working.
i will leave the link here i teh open for a few minutes before i edit this post. be sure to answer once you have read this and have the downloadlink. i would delete the link from public until i know that everything is working fine. -
Excellent, I'll be testing it out once I've got the files.
:edit:
You should be able to e-mail me thru the forum system now. -
Yay! schoko is back with goodies.
I can test 32bit W7 drivers if you have them. Though I am about to get alittle busy in the next week or so, so I might not be able to get everything up and running right away. Also the DSEO link above isn't working. :-/
And yeah, unfortunately we do have a PM quota to stop PM spam. The quota is 5, but you will then have to wait for the server to refresh before you are switched to a different user group. -
send you the mail.
