Got mine too just now! =)
I didn't however get the "other warranty" discount as you did Les :(
But! I'm happy some people on this board got to take advantage of it! :D

and to iggiepop, there is actually a depot in Ontario. I think the US shipment has to pass through that depot; I remember my tracking status said that it arrived to the depot yesterday in the afternoon.

Anywyas, will go back home tonight to play with it. I got the video card upgrade so I will post some first impressions on light gaming capabilities.

    Cheers,

Wow, I cant' wait to hear what the first impressions of this notebook are. The 1320 really caught my eye as a cheap and durable portable machine that I can just carry in my bag and not really worry about what happens to it. Plus, if the prices in the outlet are anything like what past 1310's have been, i can pick one up for cheap. :D

Hi there folks; here are my first impressions based on my configuration (please see original post for details):

    PROS:

    - Great performance
    - Little to zero bloatware (only a few Dell Support apps, Windows Live crap, etc.)
    - 9300M GS is GDDR3!!!
    - Great look (glossy black lid/sides; matte body)

    CONS:

    - Questionable build quality (the bezel does not make full contact with the LCD panel on the left-hand side, as if the adhesive is missing; it's not that bad though...)
    - Anemic speaker(s); sound only appears to come from the LHS
    - No on-screen feedback for multimedia keys (caps/num lock yes but not for screen brightness, volume control, etc.)

Overall I'm impressed and got what I expected; I very decent performing compliment to my desktop PC.

Hi everyone, my turn to post some "first impressions". I totally agree with iggypop's pros & cons, so I will simply add to his list.

    PROS:
    - Very good keyboard size and touch response; mouse click response very good too.
    - Wrist wresting area is very good. So far I do not have the problem where my thumb would skim the mousepad and cause undesired mouse movement.
    - A tad lighter than I had expected
    - Classic, tidy, business laptop.
    - Very good price
    - Screen brightness is very good even on a matte screen

    CONS:

    - Build quality could have been better. I tend to hold my laptop with the lid open at where I would rest my wrist. You will feel a little creek, as well as structural bend (a little). Screen also does not close flush on all sides.
    - Bad luck probably, but my right arrow is defective.
    - A tad thicker than I had expected with lid closed (but as mentionned above, a tad lighter so I'm happy)
    - Fan seems to go on and off for no reason; but it is not too noisy.

In general, I am very happy with what I got. No major suprises (positive nor negative); so what you see on the site is what you get. Performance is great. Mobility is very good.

Now, this is a very classic, tidy laptop that you can bring to the library or to meetings. However, it is definitely not a fashion statement, so if you plan on getting a laptop to "show off" to your friends (everyone likes to do this to a certain degree once in a while), this is unfortunately not the one. You will be better off with a Mac, or a Sony in that case.

    Hi OrlandoRealtor,

    I noticed that you indicated:
    1 320-7935 NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9400M 256MB Graphics $0.00

If I am not mistaking, I think the 9400M is NOT an option for the Vostro 1320. It will be a 9300M GS 256MB. Make sure that you are not expecting a 9400, as I believe there is a performance diff between these 2 cards.

    Cheers

Is a 9400, from my order below PolarFrog, I noticed you had several defects with yours. have you called Dell to get it exchanged yet?

    NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9400M 256MB Graphics

    Hi OrlandoRealtor,

Unfortunately, it's a print error; even the "manual" that comes with the laptop states that it's a 9400M but the only two options available to the Vostro 1320 are the Intel 4500MHD or the NVIDIA 9300M GS.

    Sorry.
