My vostro 1310 had the trulife [LG] screen and it was one of the poorest I've seen yet,was bright, but very washed out, poor viewing angle's and colour.
If the 1320 has the same screen [more than likely] I'd avoid the trulife and try the matt one.

    Hello, guys,

I plan to replace my 160G 5400rpm with a Hitachi 7k320 once my vostro 1320 arrives, I wonder how does that affect the warranty, my main problem I am going to give the my original HD to some one else, so I won't be able to swap back the original HD if I need the warranty service, any one know if dell will decline my warranty because the HD has been changed?

I am going to do a fresh install of vista ultimate, I am wonder whether I need to load the ACHI driver (like intel matrix manager) into a USB drive first?

Thanks, will report back when I received the laptop.

I'd say take Vista Business Edition. They're giving it for free if you select it, so with the coupon that price will drop a bit more.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like that deal has, sadly, expired.

Yea, I don't think they update the final delivery date in the status too often. Mine had an expected delivery date of May 8th; however it was shipped out yesterday, without any change to the May 8th date. I highly doubt it'll take 2 full weeks for shipping.

I got an e-mail from Dell on the 27th saying that the unit had shipped; I was also provided with a Purolator tracking number. When I spoke today with a rep at Purolator, the package hadnt't even been scanned in yet, meaning it hadn't even reached the border yet. It's strange that a laptop purchased in Canada actually comes from the US; I thought that there was a depot in Ontario...

Oh well, hopefully I'll have it by Friday...

It has arrived! Victory! I will post some impressions once I get home from work and have a chance to play around with the system...
