Since I uninstalled Dell Connection manager and updated my wifi drivers to Intel 12.2.0.0 these http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=3062 I've had almost all green latency (yellow spikes every two minutes or so).

I was actually adviced by Dell to uninstall the Connection manager and this really helped with my wifi connections, Im constantly online now :D

should i uninstall/stop/disable (which?) my cd/dvd rom drive if i dont use it? if so, what is the best method of doing this? (bios, device manager, etc)

also, why do i even need intel matrix manager?

    thanks!

edit: tried disabling the cd drive and installing matrix manager 8.2, and that has helped, but i still get some red bars. any way to get rid of that?

I just installed the drivers, and I have to say that I am still getting better results with the 8.2. These are still much better than the 8.7

So far the 8.8 drivers are way better than 8.2 and 8.7. First time i've stayed in the green.

8.8 for me has resulted in the best solution yet.

Before I installed these new 8.8 drivers my latency was up over 8000 constantly. Now I am in the green, a little under 500's but my audio chopping / skipping is worse than ever. :(

Well a couple of restarts later, I ran the tool again (for about 10 minutes) and found that the max latency I achieved was 702 microseconds. This is using the 8.8 driver.

I'm also now in the green zone with the 8.8 driver. The latency used to be consistency in the red zone (~9000ms).

However, I had no audio problem previously. The high latency was just untidy.

So maybe this new driver finally proves that the matrix storage driver is not the cause of the audio problems.
