That's great to hear, thanks. How's the black level to your eyes? Do you feel it is on par with the better notebook screens out there?

Black colors appeared deep, but it was less than I was expecting. I think I've seen a few notebooks with deeper blacks. It's definitely better than any CCFL display in every regard except contrast ratio, but I think that most other displays look worse. I'm not sure if the MacBook Pro has a better screen or not, which would be hard to find out unless I compared side-by-side, though I think it does.

I got mine friday. My order got screwed up, so it will have to go back :(

It's a beauty of a laptop on the otherhand.
The Dell Control Point software is buggy, especially the All Day mode. I hope there will be an update soon.

Hi all....I´m from Czech.Rep, so first I have to apologize my english... I have two questions about E6500. What is the battery runtime of this model with NVS 160M ? I need to know, if NVS 160M with 6cell battery can run at least 3 hours - with all power savings and 50%LCD brightness. I don´t know, which g. acc. is better for me... If X4500 can handle full HD videos... Thank you for any answer...

I have a E6500 with a 9cell accu. The battery time is close to 7-8hours (in idle, internet, word, ...). I have one with the X4500 and the LED-backlit screen and it can play a x264 encoded HD movie @ 1080p.
You will definately get a battery time of more than 3 hours, depending on the load of the system. You won't be able to play a HD movie and get 3hours of battery time at the same time :).

So, i hope, it´s a good choice... And i hope, it can handle 1080p without any problem . You have P8600 , or something stronger?

And one more question for you... What about the noise. It´s whisper quiet, like the other say..

Just got mine in this mornin, still at work, but upon first inspection, I'm very pleased. Very nice looking and solidly built... I got Vista 64, it will be my first experience with Vista.... First thing I did was get rid of all those nag screens..

Dell does like to overestimate on the delivery times. Mine arrived 6 days before the ESD.

The E6500 gets a 1943 3DMark06 score with stock drivers. You could probably get a higher score with better drivers. If you're really looking for 3D performance in benchmarks and games, you could try flashing the Quadro drivers into Geforce drivers, which would raise the score higher.

I would say that it should get around 50% better performance than the 8400M GT, though it's still a bit below the 8600M GT. It's definitely a great video card for a business-class laptop.

    1943?! Thats 1/3 of the 770M :| I guess I wont be exchanging...=/

Also, how do I "reflash" my Quadro? I would like to switch to gaming mode on here to fly past 6000 3dmark06 points but not sure how.
