I think my bezel and palmrest started showing scratches within a week of purchase. This E4300 that I am reviewing right now was delivered with a palmrest scratch, nice Dell :p.

Seriously, for the next revision of Dell's the notebook paint really needs to be improved. The paint wear makes it look older than it really is.

@Dell-Bill_B: If you want, we might be able to arrange for an NBR review of the Latitude ON program if it is actually ready for release. I've got an E4300 standing by, let me know if you are interested and I will see if we can arrange something with the administrators of the site.

    You think Theros??
How else would they have known of the Z series 4 months before release and be so certain?

I love this NB. Anyone knows if it it supports regular SATA laptop 2.5 hard disk (non-SSD)?

I buy what Dell advertises on Lat Z, but the SSD; I am not ready to spend $$$ on SSD at this moment.

SSD, super thin design. Pricey but was to be expected i guess, given the specs. Hopefully they'll make a more "down to earth" (read lower cost/mainstream) version as a probook competitor (I know ProBook=Vostro  but that's the closest HP's business line has got to this) doesn't have to be as thin-but close, and doesn't have to use SSD's

There is a difference between supporting only SSDs and selling only SSDs. If the Latitude Z uses a standard 2.5" drive with a standard SATA interface, it supports all 2.5" SATA drives.

I'm pretty sure there are no 1.8" SSD drives coming close to the capacities mentioned in the Z specs.

I suspect SSD was the only way to get it that thin?

No, the SSD is for weight and power consumption. HDD/SSD size is the same (standard 2.5").
