    Well started the process of getting official quotes for the 6700 and reps are only knocking off about $50 from the discounted price you view from the small business Dell site... I mean the discounted price is about $2k off the full retail price but the thing is still pricy($4k) when you toss in the software and warranty items.. that's with IPS, covet edition, K3000, and the battery slim, and the 3840QM...

    Do those among you who work with Photoshop also have this flickering when zooming? When I zoom down very fast, I can see four of five different-sized versions of the picture, and some of the other open images become white for an instant; it seems as if it were too much for the graphic-card, but that woud surprise me, because I didn't have this on my old notebook

    Hello.

    I am looking at a refurb m6700 to buy for myself. It does not come with bluetooth or a webcam. Can I retrofit these two features? What are the parts that I nees?

    The webcam will require that you buy a new LCD bezel on top of the webcam wiring, etc. It won't be an easy procedure to add one. The Bluetooth module is far easier to add, you'll only need the cable and the module itself which some NBR members were able to acquire after some trouble.

    Give Dell a call, maybe they could do the webcam installation for you, same for the bluetooth for a certain cost of course.

    Flickering? Anyway, I think I know this phenomenon. I believe it is the residual image lagging as it is drawn/redrawn. If that is correct, then it would be surprising. You must tell us the Photoshop version and system configuration you have.
    You mean slice, don't you? And yes, that was/is disappointing. What's more, the sales rep hung up on me. I told him I wanted to spend $4300~ and need the ultra card and CPU. He said the price would be $5400 and hung up! (actually disconnected the chat). But anyhow, I thought--the audacity. So I just ordered online and configured it myself for $4800. A pretty penny, but I didn't have time for the pain.

    I don't know if flickering is the right word ... it's more like a "tack-tack-tack", I can see three or four different sizes of the image when I zoom down quickly; and, yes, maybe the short turning white of the other open images can be called flickering;

    I have CS6 and the GPU is a K4000 and 8 GB Ram, 5 of which I've made available for Photoshop, and 4 Cache-Steps

    Hmm, you have a state-of-the-art pro GPU so maybe its the amount of RAM? I'd be devastated to get laggy performance like that. In any event, you need more RAM. Sixteen is the new 8GB minimum, especially in your case.

    yes, it is disturbing ... and I am planning to go for 32 GB even ... but I'd be surprised if that should be the reason, as on my last notebook I had only 3 GB and the lagging didn't occur

    Yup I meant slice. Anyway the guy emailed me a quote again today and knocked another $200 off it to just under $4k for me now... Need to read this order and verify everything is the exact same as the other one with no shady stuff...lol
