Dell Precision M6700 Owners Thread

    Yea the GPU thermals are phenomenal on these systems, although as previously shown the CPU takes a hit for it. There probably is some way to run a Clevo Kepler or Maxwell 2.0 card above 100W but I don't happen to just have one kicking around. Granted the inductors and MOSFETs on most of these cards are probably not meant to run much past that.

    Have you ever tried a 270W or even a 330W power brick on a Precision? I know of a few that existed for select Alienware systems and other SIs such as MSI.

    I have not tried one but others have. It doesn't seem to help, the system will accept such a PSU but not draw more than it would off of a 240W.

    Can I use a M6600's FirePro M8900 in a M6700?

    Don't see why that you would given that card has perhaps the highest failure rate of just about any of the semi modern mxm cards ever made along side with the 7970m but it should work though I personally wouldn't keep it in there for long.

    The black version of the card looks super cool, maybe frame it up?

    You can put it next to the FX collection.
