    Hey guys,

I got a e6410 from the Outlet a few days ago. At the moment, I have two questions (later I'm sure to have more):

    1. The trackpad annoys me a lot. A lot of time it won't click, and sometimes the cursor just kind of slows down when you move it around (although less so lately). Is there some other set of drivers, or something else that can be done about this? Once I'll get an external mouse I'll mostly use that, but it is annoying nonetheless (I'd use the nub, if it didn't depress me so...).

    2. My sound gets "stuck" at times when watching YouTube videos or whatever, just for a moment or so. My media player also did it, but it doesn't anymore now that I've set it to WASAPI. Is this a known problem?

Going to try and bargain with an agent for a set of setup disks and a cost reduction if possble. See anything I might be missing? I will not be using this laptop for gaming as I have a monster desktop for that. It will be used primarily for Oracle DB Management and designing and building MS Office apps.

    Thanks in Advance!

I ordered my E6410 recently, it should arrive at my door on Monday. I'm hoping it arrives sooner but I doubt it will. I went with a Core i5, 4GB RAM, WXGA+, and standard Intel graphics.

As soon as it arrives I'm wiping it and installing Arch Linux (my favorite distro) and checking out the new KDE 4.5 desktop. I am so psyched!

The only thing that I forgot to add to it was a blacklit keyboard, I can live without that. However, is it possible to pay Dell to put that in later if I choose that I want it? I can imagine the premium they would charge, though if I did that I would want it under the complete care with the rest of the system.

For me, I can't stand WXGA and I use WXGA+ as a minimum. Other than that it depends on what you want to do. I think that WXGA is the only thing offered on the fast track system.

Unfortunately you're right. I'd prefer the WXGA+ and may wait, order and opt for it.

Miles, you might want to go to the Dell Outlet as you can get much more bang for your buck there. Also, at the moment they are running a 20% off special if you use the coupon code 58?GZ2J7XQ369W at checkout. The sale is on all Latitude laptops and expires on the 25th of August. I think you'll find the savings more than worth your while.

Look for an E6400 backlit keyboard on ebay. It is the same part and you can do the swap yourself following the instructions in the service manual. It won't affect the warranty on the rest of the computer.

    John,

I notice you have the WXGA+ display and the Intel® HD Graphics Media Accelerator in your E6400, is that sufficient? If you had it to do over again would you have gotten a discrete graphics card? I'm looking at the E6410 and that's one of my issues. Thanks!
