How much did you pay for the E6410? Looking to replace the D620 with another 13" or 14" Latitude.

 

Mine is a refurbished unit with a 3 year warranty. I paid $850 with tax.

My dad bought almost the same model, except with Intel GPU for $450 on eBay. It has a bios password, but since its under warranty, that will be fixed quickly. He's getting it to replace his Inspiron 1525.

 

WOW! I just configured a new e6410 on Dell, and a model with the same specs as mine(in sig), but with i3 would have cost $1400 I paid $850 for mine, which is refurbished

 

This is my first post with my E6410!!!

 

update for my finger print issue:
i discovered that dell has administrator passwords for BIOS, so i called them. gave my service tag and they replied me with administrator password. now it's all good.


question:
how come i get 3.3 in win 7 for cpu with i5 520 processor?(everything else is 6.9/5.9/5.0)

 

Verify if you have a latency problem (all bars should be low, and color green):
You can use this free tool (DPC Latency Checker) to know: DPC Latency Checker.

If you have a latency problem, it's probably your motherboard drivers that causes the problem.
If you don't, then good, at least we know you don't have this problem.

 

Sorry if this has been asked. I searched but could find the answer.
I can't work out if the SATA and SSD drives are fully interchangable.
ie although the e6410 came from Dell with a SATA drive, a SSD drive will work/fit no problem?.
Is the same same for all notebooks ie SSD work on standard SATA connectors?

Yeah, 99% of SSD's are SATA, so just about any one will work in a E6410. Or any modern laptop.

 

Will it void my warranty if I replace the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU?
