the answer to that may technically be yes, but the short reply i have to you is :: DONT TELL THEM. there is absolutely zero way they'd ever tell, even if they were looking.

maybe right, but you can tell, if a defect is caused by overheating or wrong mounting...

and: why the heck do you want to change the thermal paste?

    In written terms yes.
If you ever use the warranty and the engineer comes out, is it likely he would notice the change in paste, no.
So its up to you :)

If you mess up and damage something then yes. E6410 isn't too difficult, there should be a door just like E6400..

To put simply, SATA is a communication technology used by a secondary storage device (e.g: anything that is not your CPU L1/L2/L3 cache and your RAM). In today's computers, optical drive's, HDD's, and most (~99%) SSD's are using SATA. The other SSD's uses a PCI-E connector, where the SATA controller is built-in. But I doubt you have them as they are usually

The Latitude E series uses SATA exclusively for it's secondary storage devices. Replacing your HDD with an SSD will work perfectly.

Be sure in the BIOS to set your SATA mode to AHCI or IIRT, for proper functioning and take full advantage of the SSD

Well, the GPU is idling at 53C which is a little high-ish. My Asus G51Vx idled at 46C.

thermal paste won't change that; it is due to bad air flow design...

btw: thermal paste is an insulator! (you don't want anything between the cpu/gpu and the heat sink; its just slightly better than air!)

Make sure that Speedstep is enabled in the BIOS and that Intel's TurboBoost drive is loaded in Windows. My i5-540M gets 6.8 on the CPU.

That is a little warm. Make sure that you are running the A06 BIOS. The fan rules are coded into the BIOS. You can use HWiNFO32 to check both the CPU temperature and the fan speed (I'm between 40 and 50C with the E6410 docked and the fan at ~2900rpm.).
