There is a switch, but no one ever uses it....They relied on Quicket before, and assume it's still there .. gobbling up ip's now.

Are you saying it's not possible with E6x00 laptops now?

I can't say for sure since I don't have an E6410 here now. I can say that Dell removed Connection Manager from DCP for the E6410, and then Security Manager from DCP for the E6420 (security is now in some other data protection package). That leaves just DCP System Manager, and I don't recall a setting there for WLAN/LAN switching.

    Ballocks.

Is there some third party software then? I tried loading e6400 dcp connection manager, failed.

I stumbled upon this earlier today: http://www.mobilenetswitch.com. I know nothing about it but it appears to be well-represented. Too bad you can't train users to use the switch.

Hopefully a more elegant solution will surface here.

We have well over 1,000 laptops ... that could get VERY costly.

Dell needs to come out with their own, proper solution, they should not have removed that feature in the first place...

Call DELL? Hahaha .... where would I even start? Their tech support doesn't understand ... anything.

    Do you have a number?

If your organization has over 1,000 Dell laptops then it should also have the phone number of someone in Dell who will answer the phone without delay.

I'm not going to lookup a phone number for you. If you are serious about solving your issue, and you support over 1,000 laptops purchased from Dell, then you should be able to figure out how to contact Dell and escalate your issue to get knowledgeable support.
