    Hey guys, quick noobish question.

Are there any known compatible sleeve type cases that are hard shelled on the outside, or just not made of neoprene? Neoprene sags over time and gets dirty quite quickly [in my experience anyways] :\

    I saw this for a MBP 15", which considering the dimensions of it are 14.35" x 9.82" x .95" while the E6410's dimensions are 13.2" x 9.4" x 1-1.2" [front - back].. it should fit...right?

Any advice on cases would be much appreciated, I'm looking for a sleeve style since I carry it textbook style.. not within a book-bag or anything.

    Thanks in Advance :)
[Oh and thanks for the dismantled pics... replacing the hdd and ram can be done with uber-ease now ^^]

Samsung 4gb installed, the index jumped to 6.9 :D . So, it was the single channel.

Is there a utility to fake the context menu key somewhere on the forums?

If not I wrote one for myself and thought I'd share (64-bit only, I think):
    http://pc.longview.be/Context/context.exe

It's an autohotkey script, here's the source:
    http://pc.longview.be/Context/context.ahk

To send the context menu key press right control + altgr.
For some reason it only works in that order, I've only just started using it so I don't know any other methods.

I haven't tested it thoroughly so use caution.

Are you proposing a utility program and 4-finger hot key sequence vs. a right-click?

Basically, I'm pretty used to the context button.

If you don't use that key then you obviously have no use for the script.

I have the DW1501 wireless card and if I look at the advanced properties on it in device manager, there is an option "Disable upon wired connect" that sounds like what you want. Not sure if all the various wireless options have something like this too.

Also, I know the Juniper Odyssey client manager has an option to disable wireless when plugged in wired, but I don't know how pricey that is.

I have the blue. My ex-girlfriend ( :( ) has the red via Dell Outlet.

Both look excellent. Actually all 3 colors look excellent. (especially compared to the E6420)

You can get the blue or red lids on eBay. They usually run $60+.

My dad's E6410 got scratched up when he sent it in for repairs at his company. So I got him a silver replacement lid for less than $20 on eBay.

I'm going to try to paint his old lid white like my old XPS M1330.

I've been wondering this as well. I already have a 30GB OCZ SSD in the modular bay, and a 160GB in the HDD caddy, but would love to have more options. That way I could run (2) 750GB HDDs.

I highly doubt it though since mSATA just recently started showing up as standard in some laptops, but it seems the M6500 supports it which I think was released around the same time as the E6410. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Only way to know for sure is for someone to give it a try.

    There's also this...

    I think this should work.

    Interesting info...

I got an WXGA+ screen from eBay to replace a damaged screen (don't ask).

    14.1" LCD Screen B141PW04 V.1 for Dell Latitude E6410 - eBay (item 110666592237 end time May-24-11 22:39:59 PDT)

I took a gamble not knowing what brand I would receive and buying from a China based seller. Samsung? LG? AUO?

I received the AUO screen today (took a long time). To my surprise the AUO WXGA+ screen looked to have deeper blacks and richer colors than the LG WXGA+ screen. I had the two side-by-side playing the same videos and displaying the same pictures. Every test I tried the, the AUO screen looked better in my eyes.

Although, one E6410 had Intel and one had NVIDIA. So to make sure it wasn't the graphics card, I swapped the displays between the two machines and the AUO again came out looking better. I thought it might have been the color/contrast/brightness settings, so I played around with those settings trying to make the LG screen look better but could never get it to look better.

So to summarize, the AUO WXGA+ screen looks better than the LG WXGA+ screen. I have yet to sample the Samsung WXGA+ screen.

I have the cheapie ones from eBay.

    2nd Hard Drive Caddy for Dell E6410 E6510 E4300 M4500 | eBay

Mine did not have any mechanism to pull it out. There was just a hole where the "push to pull out mechanism" was like on the OEM DVD drives. This made it very difficult to remove since it fit very snug. I ended up using pliers to pull it out.

The shiny metal plates you see in the picture can be removed by screws. I removed all the metal plates (top and bottom) and it made it much easier to remove by hand.

Some HDD caddies on eBay have the "push to pull out mechanism". Look for those.
