Bumping up the GUI size to 125% is super simple and the size change is handled flawlessly, in my experience. 150% causes some visual issues, but shouldn't be necessary.

Just got a Dell representative check with tech support saying:

    02:07:11 PM Customer
Is the Latitude E6420 compatible with the Intel 310 SSDs Intel® Solid-State Drive 310 Series - Overview ?
    02:08:46 PM Agent
that hard drive has not been tested on that system so we can not guarantee that it will be compatible with it
    02:10:56 PM Customer
Hm let me ask differently, is the mini PCI-e slot mSATA compatible?
    02:13:26 PM Agent
    checking
    02:17:46 PM Agent
sorry for the wait checking with tech support
    02:18:36 PM Agent
there will be a slot for it available if you do not selecting the mobile broadband card
    02:19:24 PM Customer
Can I publish this information? Twitter, forum etc? Of course, your name deleted.
    02:22:31 PM Agent
yes you can, keep in mind that just because there will be a slot for that item does not mean that we will support it as it has not been tested with the product

I should have mine around April 15th or so.
    E6420, Core i7-2720QM, 2GB, backlit keyboard, nVidia, 250GB 7200RPM, fingerprint, 14" 1600x900, Bluetooth, DVD-RW, webcam, 1501 wireless, 6 cell battery, 3 year onsite. - $1241.80

Going to move 8GB, Ultimate-N 6300 and Intel SSD from my 6410 to the new machine. Can't wait to see what other new 6GB SATA SSDs will be out in a few months. OCZ Vertex 3 240GB has my vote at this point.

Intel 320 SSD series should hit the market 28th of March.
    I will cath a 300 or 600 GB.
OCZ Vertex 3 has to high power consumption for my point of view.

Just ordered my E6420 last night. Didn't want to fork over an extra $160 for the E-modular HD. When do accessories/Dell parts usually become available for purchase? I want just the HD caddy so I can install something larger than 320 GB into the E-modular bay.

The Intel 320 isn't going to be any better than the current G2s since they use the same controller as the G2 but their NAND chips have less write endurance. IMO you'd be better off looking at other alternatives like Samsung's 470 series or Crucial M4/C400. OCZ isn't a great company either - I'd avoid them at all costs. You can read more about these SSDs in the hardware/SSD subforum.

Thx for the SSD comment - I will have a look.
My actual Samsung SSD 256GB MMDOE56G5MXP-0VB was one of the first shipped to Europe but has no TRIM-support and can not perform a Firmware update. This was a case of poor service from Samsung.

    Any optimization comments?
