I thought E6320 was replacing E43x0? The only Latitude refresh that looks half decent.

It looks to me like a branding decision. The E43x0 designation never made any sense. If an E6xx0 was more expensive than a E5xxx0 why was the E43x0 sitting at the top of the price pyramid?

Personally, I hope the E6320 is much, much cheaper than the E4310, which demanded a huge premium on the E6410, just for a modest decrease in footprint. The E4310 represented weak value in comparison to MacBook Pro 13 inch, which is really saying something. Of course, the XT-2 and E4200 were even more overpriced. Hopefully Dell can manage the value equation a little better for the smaller members of the E3 family.

Some upgrades do "boggle the mind," such as RAM. However, pricing of the E6410 was reasonable enough, considering the 3 year warranty, depending on coupon codes and negotiation skills.

The Outlet is a good thing, since it's a way for Dell to get money out of returns.

Well the reason for the crazy upgrade prices is because any manufacturer hardly makes money on laptops these days. Fierce competition has forced manufacturers into a downward spiral of QC. The only way they make money is selling time of purchase upgrades, software, accessories.

The only company I can think of that has very fair upgrade prices is Sager, they had like 16 GB DDR3 RAM for like 150 bucks which is pretty much retail pricing.

Outlet can sometimes be practically brand new yet 66% off brand new price.

you can already configure the 6320 on dell's website.
well it looks like i will skip also this cycle. i refuse to buy a bigger laptop with a crappy 16:9 and an HDMI which is useless with most monitors.

i consider the latitude e4310 the x301 cheap brother. you can't beat dell's outlet prices and the 3 year warranty. so that's mainly why i keep coming back to it. i can't wait until this 16:9 trend goes away. unfortunately i know it will last for very long.
why are they making these business laptop with 16:9, do you watch movies or use excel spreadsheet at work? maybe that's what they do at dell.
and yes the pricing does not make sense. for that price i buy a lenovo or a vaio.

    Here's the link:

The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

So far, this product is a colossal disappointment. The starting price is $1,439 - making a MacBook Pro look cheap in comparison. The Ubuntu 10.10 option is there. Oh, and Dell is still using a picture of an E2 Latitude as well as the E3. Oh, and for that price you get a wimpy 3-cell battery. It's an extra $19 for a 6-cell.

The only interesting news is the "-Modular 320GB 7200 HDD [add $160.00]." Yes, Dell is finally selling a second 2.5 inch HDD. It's only taken three generations. Thanks.

Overall, I'm not thrilled. Even with discounts, I don't see the value. For this money, small business users will migrate to MacBooks. Shocking as it may seem, Apple is now capturing marketshare among business users.

Feel better? Do you really mean to suggest that a single vendor's offering of one laptop model is going to cause "small business users to MIGRATE to Macbooks"? Do you realize how stupid that sounds? :D

Looks like machines are up and not linked. Could be Dell testing.
