Going to the 2720QM was like 280 dollars for the E6420.

I mean the upgrade pricing was...fair. Is the Dell multi-touch any good? The Quadro prices were $$$

I meant the starting price of 1090.00 for the E6520. Will wait and see how that holds up.

I wouldn't get too excited. The E6420 started at $1,040 without any discounts, at a time when you can get the cheapest E6410 for $589 without any negotiation. You also would be waiting over a month for the E6420 to ship.

Well, the pricing didn't include any of the customary Dell "discounts," so it was pretty brutal. As far as the "2720 quad core," I'd advise a wait and see approach to see how the case design deals with heat.

I don't think it will. The $50 price differential between 15 an 14 inch models makes sense, but the overall price is just a fantasy.

In the past, higher resolutions came with brighter screens, which could be an advantage for people who work outdoors, in direct sunlight. Of course, my own experience with upgraded displays has been negative, due to graphics driver conflicts.

The base resolution is probably good enough, but I wouldn't order until I was sure about the specifications. For the last generation, Dell's standard display was a little brighter than the comparable HP Toughbook, based on the specs. We'll have to wait until there's some product info in that regard.

The E6510 starting price is 1010.00 at the end of its life. Yes, discounts are big on it right now so it ends up being much less. Just saying 1090.00 at the start of the E6520's life is not bad at all.
