fell on my m6400.

    alright. today i was biking to school. i was going straight on a street and it was my right of way. a pedestrian decided to cut me off and i swirved. fell backwards and fell ontop of my la.ptop. which was in my bag. now i have a dent and some parts of the plastic broke off on my laptop. does dell replace this or can they give me a new shell.? the hindge is a little weird.

    If you have accidental coverage then yeah they'll take care of it. If you just have the standard warranty then it'll cost you i'm afraid. They will sell you the parts if you want to replace it yourself. :)

    have you had this experience.? and will they have me send the laptop in? I just want the shell to be replace. it's dented pretty badly. and the hindge is popping out a little.

    Do you have Accidental Coverage? If you have Accidental, like the OP stated..they will replace your lappy. And, you will have to return yours to Dell.

    If you don't..you will have to pay for the replacement parts, yourself.

    so full 3 year and complete care coverage . does not have accidental coverage? or does it? im not sure.

    but anyway. i dont have complete care. im adding it. for 200 bucks. or do you think it's not worth that. and just order replacement parts. ? i wonder if i ordered a new shell . would it cost less than 200 bucks.

    No but any cosmetic problems or accidents will cost the laptop owner unless he or she bought accidental coverage, then it free. Either way Dell will repair your laptop when you send it in.

    Complete Care is accidental damage cover. Ring Dell.

    technically, adding complete care to fix the problem after you caused the problem is fraud, so....

    the shell should cost less than $200... if sometime else in the laptop broke, then more

    im not bothered by the dent so much as of right now. but if this had happend to me. im trying to prevent any other types of accidents in the future and protect my self and the laptop for any future type accidents.

    but im talking to a sales person to ask about replacement shells
