    Hi Boys,

    I'm new here...
And i'm happy to find you!

    I've some doubts:
186.08 driver is just installed on my Dell E6400.
I tried to set the OC values mentioned above, but the test failed.
The max i could reach is:
    Core clock: 840 MHz
    Memory clock: 486 MHz
    Shader clock: 1750 MHz

It's alredy a big jump, but far from yours...
(btw it was the same with 185.85).
    Any suggestion?

    Thanx!

    A

Sadly, every GPU (well this applies to all processors) is made differently, so one people can probably do better than me, and some not.

But let's get the most of it. Can you please define your "fail", what i mean, is what happens? The driver crash? BSOD? something happens in your games or screen? And what OS are you using? 32 or 64-bit?

Try increase the Shader clock 5MHz at a time.
Once you reach a max, diminish it a bit of 4-5 MHz, and increase the Memory clock 1MHz at a time.
See what you can get. Knowing what cause the "fail" could be helpful.

My guess is that the mem clock is limited because of the GPU Core speed. I don't think Dell used different memory from the GPU.

Thanks for the hints, i'll try.

At the Create Porfile tab, there is a test button, so that test is failing...

I don't have the Test button, this is probably new in the 186 series drivers.

I had that Test button also before 186 driver...

What new in 186 is in the NVIDIA Control Panel, there is a new line under Mobile: "Configure Smart Dimmer"!

Can you please be exactly specific which driver you download (even provide me with a link), because I also don't have that option.

hey, has anyone been able to get Mass Effect to start up on their E6400? I just installed it, and installed the latest patch (1.01). I also installed the latest driver 186.08 64 bit for Windows 7. I haven't overclocked either yet.

I tried running the game with the default Windows 7 drivers as well, nothing works. The game will start up (and I can see the process in the task manager) but it'll go away 10 seconds without any errors.

Thank you very much for a very simple solution.
    I took my risk.
I could reach: (it's not the maximum)
    Core clock: 800 MHz
    Memory clock: 500 MHz
    Shader clock: 1700 MHz
The 3DMark06 score jumped from 1910 to 2333.
The driver is forceware 182.08 using a mod inf for Quadro FX 370M on DELL PRECISION M2400, P8400, 4GB, XP-SP3, WXGA.

There is no different between running on the AC and the Battery mode.
    The 3DMark06 is 2330.

When I was trying to hibernate the machine, I got this error message:
The service 'Performance Service' is preventing the machine from entering hibernation. Try stopping this service and try again.

Yes, that service is Nvidia thing to load your overclock profile. It could be a driver bug.
