Just received feedback from user that M6800 mainboard has 2 versions. newer version with eDP factory bios started with A11, so not compatible with older version mainboard and that is the reason Dell blocked downgrade below A11 for this mainboard.

It seems like all roads are blocked, not heading anyway :tears:

Why the need for bios below A11?

And your M6800 screen is eDP for sure? That's pretty odd, not booting with that Quadro.

Yes eDP, display is ok, just cannot boot into windows ACPI_BIOS_ERROR. my M6700 is LVDS, that one totally no display unless enable Optimus. same ACPI error as M6800. Tried with Win7/8/10 all same.

Just want to try the luck if lower bios may work. Earlier M4800 there is a barrier at A09 too for K2200M to work properly.

I have the older version of M6800 that came with BIOS pre-A11 and it has a 980M in it now.

Does it really make a difference as to whether the P5000 will work or not?

Not sure, noone has ever tried it, i want to try because i have met the end of the road. Now i either sell the P5000 or put aside the newly-assembled M6800 and get a 7720 without discrete graphic card and look for after market heatsink to make the P5000 in use.

Today making very last attempt by downgrading M6700 bios to very low version and try the luck.

@iieeann Good luck to your attempt at downgrading the M6700! :)

I wouldn't mind giving it a try on my M6800, do let me know and we can work something out.

No luck at M6700 downgrading :(. May be the card i bought did not work, it is intended for Dell 7720. If bought cards for HP/Lenovo then not sure.
