The E6400 does not have these problems.

So, are you saying that the E6400 is significantly better over the E4300?
    On the screen and keyboard?

If that's true, I wish I could see a picture of a black background on the E6400 ! Could you do this for us SpeedyMods please ?
The truth is that I can have even better price on the E6400, but it's a bit bigger than what I wanted :/

@Prince_Phoenix, about your review, something you don't make clear, is your comparison with the Latitude E4300 and the XPS M1330. Is it the same keyboard?

They're different keyboards. Tactile-wise the E4300 is obviously better than the XPS M1330, although sound-wise they're just as loud, with the E4300 being louder.

Dell seems to use many different brands for the same component in their labtops. Like the hard drive, the screen or whatever... It looks like we'd better be lucky to get the good ones... And about the way things are assembled, it goes a bit the same way... Am I right ?

Well, model to model that's true. Within models, there's little variation for the most part - one or two brands for the same component.

I just got a new E4300... I notice that intermittently there is a shadow of blue pixels that shimmer across the left side of the screen and in band up and down the screen... It is very noticeable when viewing a black backgrounded web page... Or if I have a screen background that is dark (Like the Latitude Stainless Steel)... The interesting thing is I can make it go away by taking a soft cloth and applying light pressure to the area of the screen... This is my first LED screen and I do not think it should be doing this?...

I think you should call DELL for repair too :)
By the way, sfokevin, could you give us your configuration and your impressions about your new labtop please ?

Another question about the keyboard : is the backlighted one better than the non-backlighted one considering typing experience? Anybody has tried both? And do you think it's usefull considering the price, and the fact that it takes half an hour of battery... ?
