The only thing I don't like is the latitude ON "Reader". You must run outlook express which is lame. I use Thunderbird and it won't work so I turned it off.

That seems to be the only major flaw I can see

Latitude ON and Latitude ON "reader" were both listed in my invoice and so I will call Dell and find out why I don't have Latitude ON.

Does it fit into the docking station with the 6-cell battery installed?

I have those two different options in my configurator :

    Intel WiFi Link 5100 (802.11 a/g/n 1X2) 1/2 MiniCard with V/pro label ajouter 0,00 €
    Intel WiFi Link 5100 (802.11 a/g/n 1X2) 1/2 MiniCard with Centrino label ajouter 0,00 €

Could anybody tell me about the difference between v/pro and centrino labels ?

Yes, it does. In this german review [forumdeluxx.de/forum/showthread.php?p=10495055] there is a link to this picture [abload.de/image.php?img=img_0819s477.jpg].

Sorry, but seems like I'm such a n00b on this forum that I'm not allowed to post links to other sites. (need 15 posts to post links)

If you want Intel vpro software, you need to take the vpro wireless card. In vpro is for sysadmin, it gives you a remote desktop alternative, "Intel Active Management Technology ", Intel Trusted Execution Technology, Intel Virtualization Technology and support for Vista bitLocker. Most people don't need these softwares.

So the lesson regarding the keyboard is to get the backlit keyboard, otherwise you're screwed.

I just had a long discussion with Dell concerning the Latitude "ON" reader and the Latitude ON Hardware. I bought my machine (E4300) thinking I was getting the hardware, but when it arrived I only had the reader. I called and complained and I just received an email from Dell indicating that when the Latitude Card becomes available, one will be sent to me. The only problem is I will have to install it myself. At least I am getting the card which is what their advertising said was in the machine, when I purchased the machine.

Why did Dell commit false advertising to their campaign. I don't think that they believed anyone would notice.

Watch Dell very carefully before you purchase anything from them.
