Just wanted to get more feedback. :) I went ahead and installed the 185.20 driver in Vista 64 bit--no issues so far.

Vista OEM installations have an activation preserving mechanism. If you go over to the Lenovo group and read the "Clean Install Guide" S. T. Allen explains it. He's sort of the equivalent of John Ratsey here but for the T61.

I've installed the 185.20 drivers and they were ok yesterday, but today I started getting BSODs on restarting windows, at the point where the Vista login screen is supposed to appear. I am running x64.

    Anyone else seeing this?

not yet. is it dumping to memory? If so, can you diagnose the BSOD or upload the file and I will diagnose it for you? hahahahah, so I BSOD'd ... but nothing to do with the graphics driver. anyway, let me know, and we'll figure out if its actually the nvidia driver.

One more thing I've noticed when using the E6400, if the power adapter is not inserted completely or is falling out I get a message telling me that the adapter is not recognized by the computer as a genuine Dell adapter. That warning isn't new, I've always had that if the power adapter wasn't inserted properly. The new part is that it asks me to insert a Dell approved 65watt power adapter, whereas it always used to ask for a 90watt.

    Just thought I'd post that.

All Dell laptops that I have seen including my Dell Latitude E6400 doesn't have the power plug go all the way in at 100%. But mine hold the plug VERY well, and I have no issues. When I attach a Dell 65W PSU on it I get a message that you see, but requesting a 90W PSU.

On the review that I did, I found out that using the 65W makes the CPU go in extra slow mode (de-overclock more than battery in power saver mode in Vista). and recharge the battery at an extremely slow rate. (if you put the system into sleep/off state than it recharges the battery at normal rate (well I didn't really calculated it, but it looks like)

For me, this problem (message + CPU throtting) was fixed in the A09 BIOS and is still OK with A11. I have the Intel GPU and a few days back I did a full load + battery charge test and the 65W PSU was drawing just over 60W at the mains socket (so there was still a little headroom since it is not 100% efficient).

What BIOS and GPU do you have?

That's interesting... AFAIK the 65W adapter works fine for me (as in there's no throttling) and I'm still using A01 o_O

There was no mention of any keyboard on the packing slip but Dell sent me another e-mail when I asked about the FP reader and the integ. webcam being standard:

Walsh Western say the ETA is the 9th :D
