I have the Logitech Illuminated keyboard, and the backlit is the same. Big keys with long text are not properly lid, and keys with 2 or more stuff have the same issue. But all they are lid the same way. My guess is to not use too much LED's else the battery will drain too fast. As for my logitech keyboard the LED are brighter, and there is so much they can do as you have the key holding mechanism as well, even thus transparent... still blocks light.

As for the touchpoint, it's the same pressure everywhere I press. I think it is just you on how you press the thing.

so yes? :D its actually not the bigger keys, its the smaller ones only in the top middle.

and can anyone confirm the trackpoint thing? that the click is located more towards the top?

So your saying...on keys like the enter key the light doesn't illuminate the key properly?

I tested it very carefully and several time, and I have no problem on my side, no mater which side you hit it.

If you are a ultra picky perfectionist, then yes, else no, you would have not notice, if I did not tell you, like all reviews.

Oh now I get what you mean! No, my keyboard is illuminated the same, everywhere.

Well, I'd say the F5-F8 keys (and arguably the 5, 6, and 7 keys) are somewhat "less illuminated" than the rest of the keyboard -- sort of that area and range of the keyboard on my E6500 -- not remarkably so, but discernible.

yes! its like f5-f8/9 and 5-8. kind of annoying but not a huge deal, dont know whether i should care or not.

also, goodbyes, thats interesting...i feel like on mine at least, the trackpoint is more responsive towards the top when you want to "click."

The backlit keyboards are definitely not totally consistently lit. When you turn off the light and take a look at it, you can definitely see that some areas are a tad darker than others. I don't know how the backlighting actually works, but I'd imagine that it'd be impractical to put a light source behind every individual key, hence the uneven lighting.

The middle trackpoint button is more responsive towards the top because those three buttons are hinged. The two side buttons should be more responsive towards the bottom, if my interpretation of "responsiveness" is correct.

Ok now I am lost on the trackpoint topic.
Do you mean the 3 mouse buttons for the trackpoint (bellow the keyboard, however above the touchpad), or you mean when you tap the trackpoint itself to click.

I thought that you mean when you tap the trackpoint.

If you mean the 3 mouse buttons, then Commander Wolf is correct. This is the standard layout for the mouse style. Lenovo computer are exactly the same. The reason is how you position your thumbon the buttons without effort (you use the index finger to tilt the trackpoint) . The thumb movement does this '(' shape but rotated vertically, where the maximum (highest point) of this curve is pointing upwards. Position your hand properly on the trackpoint, and move your thumb to pass over each of the 3 buttons without lifting or moving your hand, and you'll understand better the situation, and the reason why the buttons are layout this way.

oh no, i mean when you tap the trackpoint itself. it seems that it takes so much less force when you tap it on the top that if you did it on the sides/bottom.
