Yes, in fact, I bought that one and it is installed in this E6400 that I am typing on :). Works perfectly with the 2GB that Dell installed in the first socket.

    Questions:

1)on the SC reader on the left, is it removable? it looks like there are ridges on it that can make it removable. also, it makes noises when you move it around (almost like its not as solid as the rest of the computer).

2)Why is my audio slower than my video on the webcam? I could swear this didn't used to be a problem. Can replace it myself if i need to?

3)I have a sound issue....the sound stops because windows event log or DHCP client stops working...has anyone had this issue before? it must be related to a vista issue.

4)what are CISCO EAP, LEAP, and PEAP modules? i couldnt find much info about them so i removed them lol.

5)can i remove the dell wireless WLAN card utility?

yup. thats a nice find.. I actually almost bite on the deal before purchasing newegg's kingston. And then I noticed last night that it'll take about 2-5 weeks for them to fill the order (from SD'lers posts), the rebate may/may not be honored. This is because you have to fill in the rebate form within 21 days of purchase. So, there's a chance that you might not get your item before the 21st day...:( but some have had their orders shipped a day after they ordered. Its a good deal but I was just not fast enough.

Now Im excited to get mine! How's the performance comparison between the single mode with 2 GB and the dual channel mode (4 GB)? Also, do I just stick the RAM in without changing any settings in the BIOS? Thanks in advanced for your input~!

I think it behaves a little bit more responsively with 4GB. I have the Intel graphics, and Windows 7 64-bit, so all the RAM is utilized.

Adding RAM is straightforward. The BIOS knows that the amount of RAM has changed. You don't have to do anything in the BIOS.

Hi guys. I discovered the E6400 and I am considering buying it. I'm not sure if I can read all 260 pages now, but I would like to ask a couple of quick questions:
    1. Is the video card replaceable? I will get it with the Quadro 160M, but would like to be able to replace it in the future, if possible.
    2. What is the resolution of the web cam? Is it the minimalistic 0.3 Mpx or newer 1.3 or even 2.0 Mpx cam?
    3. Does it support DDR3 RAM, and if so, does it make any difference or will it simply use it on slower speed, like DDR2?

    Thanks!

    1. not sure about that. maybe others can shed some light into this
    2. mine doesnt come with a webcam.
    3. It can only support DDR2, not DDR3. Even if the speed permits it, the pins are not the same. So you cant fit a DDR3 RAM into a DDR2 slot. Get one with the dual core 2.8 GHz processor with FSB 1066 MHz max so that you can use a DDR2 with 1066 MHz speed in the near future (currently these RAMs are a bit too expensive, at least for me)
