That's what I was saying. Battery life for the E series with the Pxxxx CPU's have returned back to the levels of the Pentium M machines. Let's face it, since Li-ion batteries were introduced, there hasn't been much progress in the battery department aside from piling in more of them.

Mine finally shipped! YAY! Best estimate would be wednesday as in Canada it takes a little longer. Don't remember the exact amount of days though from Dell to door.

    So eager!

Why did this still happen? Dell did place a plastic pad on either side of palmrest area to prevent the scratches. Was this safety device still not good enough?

Hey guys, I read about the E6400's extraordinary battery life if I use a battery slice. Just what is this battery slice? Is it some sort of battery that I stick to the base of the laptop? I can't seem to find any information about it on Dell's website.

I believe the slice goes into the optical drive bay so you would have to take out your dvd drive

It does not, the battery slice is attached to the base of the E6400/6500 (using the docking connector). The D-series had the capability of a bay-battery, Dell only offers a travel light module or a hard drive module for the E-series.
