It's an adaptor with a HDMI female connector. You need to provide your own HDMI M/M cable, just like if you get the Dell adaptor.

Ah, thanks. I thought it would just be a cable with HDMI on one side, and DP on the other. Guess not. I wish it was just HDMI,

Does the fan turn on based on the ACPI temperature? Because sometimes my fan will come on when my CPU temps and HDD temps are really low, and i have no idea why.

What ARE the fan rules? Like at what temps does it turn on? Furthermore, why is the ACPI temperature so much higher than the other ones? Sometimes 10 degrees higher than the others.

wow, E6400 9 cell battery is impressive.
I think my machine can run 8 hours with SSD.
right now I have 80% battery left, and it indicates I can use extra 6 hours and 24 mins

We have noticed that the fan will go to fast when whatever I8kfanGUI reports as being chipset / memory reaches 50C. I was creating a big PDF file today and the fan was running fast even though the CPU temperature was only 46C, but chipset memory were at 53C. I suspect that the process was very RAM intensive.

Yes. The rules are the logic built into the BIOS stating which thermal situations cause a change in fan behaviour (if this then do that). I suspect that what you see as the ACPI temperature is something not directly connected to the cooling system.

Is there any good screen protector to buy for E6400? I just took my E6400 with me to school today, and I have noticed the keyboard and control point markers on my screen.

This is not normal... Well I never had this issue.
Make sure that the keyboard is well installed and that the touch point rubber thing is well inserted.
Else, I think something is wrong with your build. (or mine is wrong, and it fixed the problem).

You can always contact Dell.... say that you are afraid that the screen make brake or get scratch, and that you want to prevent a costly repair. Also say it is annoying as you always have to clean the screen or something on that line.
