Thats so weird. I dont know why it just started doing it, thats why i speculated it could be one of those few things i mentioned. Guess it's something else. Odd. What optical drive do you have in yours?

I just have the CDRW one. Don't know what the manufacturer is--it just says HL-DT-ST CDRWDVD MU10N.

One of the forum members mentioned it happened to him right after he updated to the .309 Webcam drivers - it didn't happen to me with the webcam update driver, but it's worth your checking into.

Yes,the new webcam driver stopped my computer (Win XP SP3) from hibernating. It would come up with a message saying "preparing to hibernate" and go no further.

    Hi there.

Is it possible that I can hook up two external motinors to E6400 without E-Plus port?

I tried to do that with connecting one with Displayport and the other with VGA port, but only the monitor connected with VGA port worked.

I don't care if I have to turn off E6400's LCD, so please let me know.

You don't need the advanced docking station (E-port plus), the standard docking has one DVI & one DisplayPort. If you mean without a docking station at all i I haven't tried.

Actually I just succeeded. I found the options at Desktop rightclick options menu.

Output -> Digital + Monitor worked.

    Now I'm happy :)

Quick question, I recently switch from XP to Vista and want to disable wireless by software but I don't want to turn off the switch. I used to be able to do it with IntelPro but Vista doesn't have the option. Or the only way is to install DCP Connection Manager????

Never mind. I found out I could disable through Win Mobility Center

hey guys. I'm considering buying an e6400 but I have a question about the graphics cards. the reason this isn't posted in the graphics forum is because it's more about the impact the different cards have on the computer -- I don't care that much about the price of the cards or their ability to play games.

I'm deciding between the 4500MHD (integrated) and NVS 160M (discrete). price is not really a factor because I'm going to try to pick a laptop off the outlet which means the difference between the two is ridiculously small. also, the integrated card is good enough for the games I do play, so that doesn't matter much either. I'm just a little concerned about the relative battery lifes from each card. assuming I'm not doing anything graphic-intensive, approximately how much would an integrated card decrease my battery life?
I'm assuming that when the discrete card is being used heavily it draws a lot more power compared to its "resting" state, while the integrated card's "working" power usage is only a little more than its "resting" state. by "approximately" I just mean something like "30%" or "10%" or "not much", nothing too detailed.

Also, does the default latitude warranty include the battery? because I don't want to have to buy a new one in a year or two when it stops holding charge.

    Thanks!
