Logitech mouseware has been discontinued YEARS ago, way before Vista came out.
So, naturally it's not Vista compatible. You could try installing Logitech SetPoint instead and see if it works, but I would not get my hopes up.

Are you SURE it's the fan and not your HDD motor, which sounds exactly the same?
Do Fn+Z and hold for a second. This should stop the fan if it's running and if your system is cool enough. Get Lavalys Everest and look at at your temperatures (trial version is good enough). On battery mode and power saver mode, the battery should not kick in at all. The fan should kick in (slow speed) when you flash for several minutes Flash videos or HD movies.

Ya, I'm sure it's the fan. Fn + z didn't turn it off though. Probably cause I'm right in the middle of a clean install.

Unfortunately it might be that your laptop has poor cooling like some others, including mine.

Make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers from Dell's website. If you do, then please post in this thread, I'm gathering some evidence for Dell.

Ok just before coming to conclusion:
Here are my results (my system was at High Performance idle all day) (in a ambient room temperature, without the sun pointing are it)

As you can see, fan speed does not show up0, because it's off. If you don't see the fan speed, then it's off, and that is your GPU.
Else contact Dell for a replacement machine as it can't handle the heat, meaning that system should expect to freeze or down on you if it over heats.

Those are your load temperatures??? My GPU heats up to 102º while on load!

    These are my IDLE temperature.
I could show you load... give me a few minutes to warm my system up and I'll post my results.
I'll also show you over load temperature (GPU overclocked).

Ah, those make more sense. What's the difference between load and overload?

Those look like mine on load as well. I guess that's the more normal temps should look like. I'm assuming the intensity of the applications/games running?
