Then why does the e6400 NOT send audio to a displayport monitor?

Yeah mine shows the temps, after redetecting the sensors, but lost all fan control.

Yeah mine worked with A11, then seemed not to with A12 and A14. I used it to allow the higher fan speed to come on later when it is sitting on my dock, as it doesnt really need to kick into high, leaving it on slow is fine and less noisy.

Still A12 and A14 BIOS's they seem to have disabled how I8kfanGUI acutally controls the fans.

the ONLY 2 things your T400 can do that E6400 can't do is:
1] step both feet on the casing and nothing wouldn't happen due to the t400's casing shell
2] has a spill proof keyboard

coz the audio should come from the audio jack. display port has no sound. it's a hardware limitation

    LIES! LIES and more LIES!
Display port support audio. Display Port IS HDMI but no royalty fees. The technology is the same.

Check you sound panel to make sure that audio is being outputted there. Also, it could be a software limitation, or a software outputs at the wrong place (see software settings, (ie: for Winamp go to the program Settings > Output panel)

Also, make sure that your screen supports audio via Display Port.

what's the normal for CPU & GPU temperature and fan speed?
because I am having overheating problem or I feel so.
I use to put my hands on the palm rest area when typing.... and after a few minutes...I feel the Heat of the body...
generally, if I do not even utilize my laptop, the CPU works (maybe thinking by himself !! :p) and it's temp reach even 70 C . is this a normal temp for u?

my normal temps under no load :
    CPU 50~74 C
    GPU 62 C
    HDD 45 C
    sth seems to be wrong!

I monitored the CPU temperate with Everest. u can find a picture of monitoring period .

gotta agree with GB on this one, MDR :) Make sure to look stuff up like that before posting. A simple trip to wikipedia would've saved the trouble :p http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Displayport
