I think you are right, espessially as you dont get any GPU values with HWmonitor either. I have found the sensor issues with i8kfan and nvidia just searching the net.

Yes, you are about right. But it doesnt help.... The colorbleeding is actually gone when disabling cleartype, but then the text is really horrible to look at. And still, the display is fine with cleartype enabled on my other machine (with XP, but i hope you cant blame everything on VISTA)
Oh, and the colorbleeding is even worse if you have the DPI adjusted manually (110% for example).

PS. I understand if you are even more dissatiesfied than me. Obvious hardware problems with lockups and BSOD is very frustrating, but atleast hopefully fixed with a new unit. ;-)

It looks like ClearType is getting the RGB order wrong for your LCD. Have you tried the ClearType tuner?

I received the E6400 today and it has audio skipping issues. I followed suggestions from other threads. I even tried an external Creative x-fi notebook USB sound card, but the problem persists. Like others here, I get BSODs in XP. My unit came with the LGP screen and the contrast is quite poor, even after a calibration. I've already requested a refund from Dell.

This is regarding DCP Power Manager Extended Battery Life mode.

When I use the Dell extended battery life mode, various settings such as the monitor refresh rate, the colour gamut, and other settings are changed to reduce power consumption. It seems to work well since with light use and wifi on, Vista reported a battery life of nearly 7 hours for my 9 cell battery! The problem is that once the Extended Battery Life mode is disabled, all the settings do not return to their previous states and they have all to be reset manually. This is quite annoying!

Does anybody else have the same problem? Does anybody know what to do to correct this?

For some reason this doesn't work on this computer. The computer simply will not allow for the fan to opperate different from how it wants it to, and if I fx try to turn the fan off, it keeps turning on and off

is the poor sound quality in XP still an issue? I just received my M2400 and simply checked 'PC Spk Mute' in the advanced sound menu and the sound quality noticeably improved.

I found the sound quality in XP to be unacceptable, even after muting the PC speaker. It sounded as if the pitch were raised quite a bit.
