Does it freeze if you are un-docked and you are connected to the power adapter?

Loaded the A09 BIOS today. Only thing I've noticed so far is that the fan runs much more often. Mine's a T9600 and Nvidia. Doesn't really seem to run any hotter. The fan just wants to run more frequently. I guess maybe it doesn't run any hotter because the fan runs more often, don't know :) Wonder if others have noted the same behavior.

Does it have a cold, bluish cast? Have you tried running any tests and/or calibrations?

none of those bad qualities. the first thing I did when I received it two months ago was test it with lagom-test, and everything was okay then and now.

Yep. Freezes undocked on battery or power, on lap or on desk. I have absolutely nothing plugged into it, no mouse, etc. just power sometimes. BTW, I have also tried multiple pwer settings and it will freeze on any of them.

So far, it has not frozen during a presention, which is weird or just very lucky. I have been thinking that maybe running the external video vs. internal was the culprit since I don't run the internal when docked, but when doing presentations I do run the internal (as well as external). Then again, 4 or so 2 hour presentations is probably not a big enough sample to know for sure that it DOES work.

Just got off with dell and they are going to replace the motherboard and RAM which will hopefully fix it. But I still just want to know! :)

The BIOS A09 have fixed my processor and bus issue. :)

The graphics is lagging less now too.

I wonder how you guys are dealing with the scratches on the case of the notebook and on the edges of the screen?
John put a bit tape to keep screen lid and case distanced. What are you other guys doing to prevent scratches?
I put two handkerchiefs between lid and case when closing the lid, but I only see this as a temporary solution and wonder what you guys came up with.

I just installed a copy of Microsoft Office 2002 for XP that I had lying around. Surprisingly, it works fine on my machine (running Vista Business 32-bit). However, I noticed that the machine is imperceptibly slower than when I first got it, when it was super fast. Do you think the Office for XP may have somehow interfered with Vista? Should I be worried at all, as long as it works?

So far, I have installed MacAfee Security Suite, printer driver for my Brother HL-1850, Quicktime and iTunes, Skype, and several Windows updates. Will my computer get progressively slower the more programs I install? How can I speed it up?

McAfee is what is slowing your machine down. Try a different anti-virus.
