Sorry, for triple monitor support you need specialized video cards.
So far, specialty designed Quadro's for desktop (not a powerful GPU, infact very weak), and the desktop ATi Radeon 5000 series support 3 displays. The rest you need multiple graphic cards.

Can the HD+ be replaced with a FHD display just by swapping displays and calling it a day with everything functioning properly?

It's just like replacing your desktop monitor... just with 4 screws, and a different shape connector which just happen to contain power + digital signal in one. :)

So that would be a yes then? The ribbon-like connector as well as the dimensions on both are the same?

It should be. But I cannot promises anything.
Like, it technically should not be any different, but I don't know if Dell uses some tricks, for wtv reasons and decides to make it different, just for and giggles.

I have two 6510s coming from the outlet, one with everything I want minus FHD display and one with FHD but nothing else of interest to me. Planning on doing a transplant then getting rid of the other.

I was waiting for your response but I didn't want someone else to scoop it up as it was the only FHD 6510 I could find and I wanted to make use of the 20% off coupon.

So I'm guessing we'll find out in a week or so.

The service manual is online and already directs you with pictures. I guess I could do a comparison of resolutions though.

Just a caution about FHD, if you are going to use this machine to connect to your office over remote desktop / Citrix sessions then the local DPI setting will not be applied to your remote session and the fonts will be to small to work with.

Thanks for the heads up. It's gonna be my homework machine so no worries there.
