    Hi,

I have a Dell docking station for my M4400 and sometimes when I place my laptop on it it will freeze, totally, nothing will work except pressing the power button for 5 secs and reboot. It happens once a week or so. Not very often and I cant find any rule to when it happens.

I have a mouse and a LAN cable attached to the dock currently. This is the docking station I have: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...?c=us&l=en&s=biz&cs=555&sku=430-3113#Overview

I have no idea where to even begin solving a problem like this.

Had the same prblem here. Removed any screen saver or power off display. No freezing now! Some post are pointing the AGN 5300 card so in doubt put it at off and see what happend.

I have the same problem here, and I've noticed that it freezes even before I push down to click the laptop into place. Just letting the laptop rest on the connectors causes it to freeze, and this is more than 50% of the time.

What BIOS version are you using? I was adviced by Dell to update to A12 and I have A06 now. Im travelling though so I dont want to start flashing my BIOS before I get home and backup my HD.

I'm using A12 and no screen saver, 5300 here too. Happens 100% of idling time affter a while (while= 5 min to 8 hours). Dell Canada have no clue waht the problem is.

Thats funny, now that you mention this I think I've had the same, it's only frozen if its been idle for a while before docking... strange...

This is becoming really annoying. Does anyone have any progress on this?

Are any of you using the Intel PROSet software with the 5300?
I use the plain jane x64 driver manually installed.
No issues with the E-Port except the fan spinning while docked.
