It's nice to have the option of regular HD (along with HD+ and FHD). Just because you don't find it useful, doesn't mean others share your point of view.

How does the Firepro M5950 compare to the Quadro 2000M? I was under the impression the Quadros were better, but perhaps I didn't do enough research.

The 2000M is better than the M5950. The M5950 more comparable with a 1000M, imo.

Benchmarks says the m5950 (6770m) performs better than the 2000m. The 2000m is bottlenecked by ddr3.

Cannot wait! I hope M6600 will have IPS panel too, because FHD resolution is too tiny on 15" for me.

My mistake. I confused the M5950 with M5800. Gonna have to wait and see what Dell's gonna do with their M2000. They could implement GDDR5 on it like they did with their HD 5850M.

That's not good news if it can only be manufactured with DDR3.

    What benchmarks? link
Doesn't mean much if ATI still has the same non existent support they did in the mid 2k's for openGL software, which is the last time I used them.
Personally wouldn't touch one with a barge pole for work, I suspect most people who've been around awhile feel the same, which is probably why ATI hold less than 5% of the professional GPU market
