May 10th? Ugh....more waiting, then probably another month after that to get it.

I just purchased a Dell (outlet) Vostro 17" for my son with a 16:9 screen, and (assuming that the Precision will be the same) it looks much "wider" vs. tall than I expected. I was thinking "16:10 vs 16:9 -- not really a big deal." Now I am with many others in thinking "what was Dell thinking?".

I'm sure that with manufacturers rolling out mostly 16:9's the 16:10 suddenly became relatively more expensive, but it's already an expensive machine, so it would have been nice to have one Dell 16:10 option.

Well that additional info and picts (thanks you guys) answers a lot of my questions. I was really hoping for 2 - 2.5" drives in the M4600 but I guess that was too much to ask. Any word on if Dell or maybe newmodeus will make a module bay drive? I know before that the 4500 could use the E-modules but with this redesign of the 15", I wonder what will be offered.

The M4600 looks like a huge upgrade from the M4500. I am happy to see a second fan, 4 memory slots, and a TON of ports.

On the screen, I have been using an E6520 with the 1920x1080 15.6" display for a few weeks as a second machine. Before you say that they fonts would be too small, try to look at one of these panels in person. The resolution actually looks pretty good to my eyes.

I agree that the M4600 is a huge upgrade and am glad that it is not a warmed over Latitude. I also -kinda- like the new latitudes. The upgrades and ports are what had me looking that the M4600 since it was announced.

In the interim, I have made due with a V1710 which I also like. Like the full keyboard and number pad. I will miss the dedicated context key and the other keyboard quirks of the 1710 (PgUp, PgDn, Home & End all at the bottom of the number pad). But neither the old M65 nor the 1710 have guts I now need as far a power.

Each machine seems to be almost perfect except for.... For me, the M4600 would have been perfect with a second 2.5" HDD (and the context key ;) )

You might be able to address that HDD thing with an mSATA or Expresscard SSD or a HDD caddy in the DVD slot (or any combination of those).

Or make the jump to Mini-PCI SSD for the second drive.

Does the M4600 have a mini PCI-e slot that can handle storage media besides the mSATA slot? Afaik not every BIOS supports that.
