Can I ask what is the hardware ID of the monitor of your W520?
I'm curious to know who is the maker of this display.

From a rapid search on internet this LEN40B2 is B156HW01 V4
so it is a matte version of XPS15 FHD display and use B+GR Led.

and from what I've heard the B156HW01 series was discontinued. What are Lenovo and Dell going to do for a replacement 95% gamut screen?

Whoa! Don't act on that thought. I just returned a W520. Lousy workmanship. The extended battery flopped around in the chassis on mine and several others on the W520 threads. The graphic drivers were flakey.I could never get the external monitors configured the way they should be. No Blu-ray. Lousy return policy and service I wanted to like that W520
    What a disapointment!
This Dell will be great. Get the regular screen for now and upgrade later. I promise there will be all the information you need to do that posted on this site by the time the IPS screen for this comes out. Anyway Lenovo doesn't have one.

The screen is B156HW01 V4 It's really beautiful! That's the only thing I liked about the W520. The screen for the m6600 would be a different model number. I returned the Lenovo and bought a Sager np8150 and one of these screens. You can find these screens and replace the dell screen if you want any tech can do it if you like or for that matter you could.
However if the IPS is priced reasonably I would wait. IPS is more expensive but the users experience would be so much nicer.

It'll probably be very overpriced to order the screen from Dell, and if the situation is anything like the DC2 screens on the EliteBooks, it'll be difficult to order the screen from elsewhere.

I would like to see people trying to install these PremierColor IPS displays into other laptops though.

The reason they can't add USB 3.0 completely over USB 2.0 in a system is that the Intel Chipset for SB doesn't support USB 3.0 natively. The USB 3.0 bus is being driven by a separate third-party NEC controller, which boots AFTER getting into an operating system that supports the controller (detecting the controller like a driver). Therefore you can't use any of the USB 3.0 ports as a booting port for drives and stuff during the BIOS POST phase. Therefore, USB 2.0 is still important to have.

We won't see native USB 3.0 support on Intel chipsets till Ivy Bridge the earliest.

Does this mean that one cannot use the win 7 restore CD to restore an image that was placed on a USB 3.0 external HDD?
