Nice! So according to your post here, it sounds like they gets 5-6 hours with the 9-cell (probably closer to 6 than 5). Thanks.

And you know this will fit? I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like it to me

So what IS the reason for removing the optical bay caddy on the M4600? you've effectively reduced the storage from 1.5TB plus to 750 + 128GB on this model.
Keep it on the latitudes, remove it on the workstation.....doesn't make sense

Drivers are up for the M4600 and M6600. Not seeing the PremierColor software right now. Looking at the articles online, this new color management system could be a very big deal. Will keep watching here for any info from those that have already ordered systems.

After what havoctex posted above I am not so sure about that...
This was possible in previous generations of Precision.

    Hi havoctex,

I think a kot of people that want to upgrade their M4600/M6600 with an SSD are a bit confused what and when they can can upgrade.

Could you be so kind to tell what kind of SATAs can be used and when?

    Thank you very much.

I think the other confusion is coming from the fact that the M4500 was a modified latitude so a lot of latitude peripherals (specifically e-modules) were labeled as latitude/precision and many of these are no longer compatible. It seems that the precisions are now their own machines. I think they only share esata devices and docking stations now. The new precisions, like the older 17" precisions, don't use the e-modules.

I am too interested in the real world performance of the new PC SW for RGB-IPS display.

ESPACIALLY I want to know about deltaE failure running in sRGB mode. Dreaming of good color gamut and D65 out of the box. :D

Cheers, Walter (amateur photgrapher :D )
