If you're worried about color reproduction and you're not going to calibrate it 'out of the box' you probably don't need an IPS -- but you should still get it =D

The M6600 with the AMD Card, does it have switchable graphics in BIOS?

If it does, does the intel card operate the Displayport / HDMI ports? The Lenovo W520 didn't which was annoying.

The Firepro does not. The BIOS only supports nVidia Optimus.

the HD6970M can be turned off in window using ATI CCC. So one hopes the same would be possible on the firepro equivalent. Battery life on an alienware M17x with GPU switched off is 5+ hour on a similar if not the same 9 cell battery..

You could always set a hotkey to underclock your GPU manually. I do this with my fans/clocks when I'm schleping around not doing any real work/gaming.

Same kind of stuff you would do for a smart phone to get the battery to last longer (SetCPU). It works.

Cancelled earlier order on M4600 and amend the mSATA card to WWAN card. Sadly they can't co-exist :(

Choosing M5950 instead of 2000m, the price difference is just too huge at almost $500 ...

I play game more than CAD application, and i assume M5950 performs better than 2000m in gaming?
Please correct me if i am wrong, i still have time to request for change :p

    Is M4600 using MXM 3.0 type A or B?

There is not much discussion about the Dock Station, which is one the important reasons i buy this laptop.
When will the dock station for M4600 be released? Even if so, is there USB 3.0 port on it?
Will the existing PR02X work on M4600?

I think the 2000M is about the same as the Firepro. I don't think I would go with the 1000M for gaming.

IPS panel is not available at my place, same as SATA3 SSD :(

1000M.. slower in gaming and cost more than M5950 if not mistaken, what is the point?
