Is it the PR02X ? That does not come with USB 3.0 ports.
Power Adapter that come with the 2-year docking station is 130W. For this Mx600 series the lowest is 180W, will that work?

since no-one asked it (and I seem not to find further details from search engines):
does M4600/M6600 Precisions support UEFI or are they still on standard BIOS?

Thanks everyone for all the detailed answers (especially @havoctex).

You will need to ensure that the correct power adapters are used. 180W for the M4600 and 240W for the M6600. If you already own a dock you might want to purchase an additional correct power adapter.

Sorry not sure I fully get the question. The M4600 support one 2.5" HDD or SSD and one mSATA. You can mix and max the HDD's and SSD's with the mSATA as you wish. The only time that Dell asks you use a 128G SSD with the mSATA is if you are configuring RAID 0 or 1. Does this help?

Both systems now use UEFI BIOS.

Too bad the optical bay is only SATA II. Otherwise, I'd buy the m4600 in an instant.

FWIW My ePort Plus that I ordered with my 6600 says it will come as this:
    - I assume that is the correct AC adapter?

@havoctex - do the SATA ports on the M4600 / M6600 support 6 Gbps transfer rates? So far the Lenovo W520 does not...

    Thanks!

I searched the thread first but didn't spot an answer to this...

I have the M6600 on order. The manual states the following:

    Maximum Memory
Intel Core i7 Quad Core and i7
    Quad Extreme processors 32 GB

I ordered the Quad Core i7 (Item Number: 317-6075). I ordered it with the default 2GB memory with the desire to remove that and replace with 16GB. I would like to only use 2 DIMMS (2x8GB).

My question is this: Where can I order 8GB DIMMS? The Crucial configurator maxes out at this offering (4GB DIMMS): 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 upgrades for Dell Precision M6600 Laptop/Notebook, CT2117217 from Crucial.com
